I was looking for a structural engineer to undertake a specific structural inspection and as part of my online research, entering 'structural engineers Warwickshire' brought up this site. I was particularly looking for information on a) the competency of the engineer/firm and b) approximate costs. Having filled in the required information, including a brief outline of my requirement, I submitted the enquiry and about 20 seconds later it brought up a selection of results. The results listed approximately 10 individuals/firms in summary format and you can then click on your choice(s) to reveal more about each engineer/firm. The information contained in the expanded result was sufficient for my needs, as it set out details of qualifications held/experience/areas of expertise and costs. Using the search facility has enabled me to identify three potential choices (one individual/two firms) that are relatively local and suitable for the inspection. Definitely worth using as an initial filter to narrow down and focus your online searchig. The slight downside is that almost immediately after receiving the results, you start receiving responses from various firms, regardless of whether they are suitable and/or local. They are standardised marketing emails of which several related to general structual surveys, i.e. house purchase surveys, and several were from firms over 200 miles away. However, as you have set your parameters in making the search, these are quick to discard. You also have the option not to enter your phone number in the search, so they unsuitable emails are not intrusive. If it allows the site to function, then it's worth accepting for the benefit provided of being able to find suitable firms. Would recommend the site and use it again.
