Overall this was an efficient operation for what was in effect a partial house clearance - I had already removed or packed a considerable quantity. One real plus point therefore was their willingness to move some of what I wished to retain to another address in the vicinity. The two men worked hard - in the rain. If I have advice for anyone else in a similar situation where there are things you wish to retain for yourself is to keep track of what they are doing room by room, otherwise it all goes before you know it.
