Well, it's very bright being new, but I wanted that so car drivers see me on my motorbike and to keep me dry as I know my jacket leaks in rain. I am quite surprised how it is quite light but manages to keep the wind out. A good feature is that the velcro cuffs will fit over the top of my gauntlets, therefore, prevents the ingress of water that way
