We went on a semi-private Downton Abbey tour, which included Highclere Castle, Bampton and Yew Tree Farm. The pick-up location was excellent for us, and the driver was very friendly, but our drop off was a different location than we were originally told it would be (when we boarded the bus to come home, they informed us that they changed the drop-off, which led us to believe that the drop-off was changed to accommodate the staff rather than the passengers). Our guide didn't join us until we arrived at Yew Tree Farm, so we felt that there was a lot of missed opportunity for questions and discussion from out-of-towners, along the way. The guide did drive back to London, and said she would cover things on the return trip, but it didn't happen. The lunch at Highclere was limited, and very crowded, causing lines to be long. I'm sure they know in advance how many people are coming, so it should have been handled better. In addition, the tables weren't cleared quickly, and there were a lot of bees flying around. We loved the small bus, but we are not sure the additional cost was worth it.
