Hi, Please find below an email I sent to your West Hampstead branch following a trial session back in June after which I was extremely disappointed - unfortunately I was never offered a response so seeing as you have requested feedback I am sending you a copy of my email below. I think the least they could have done was to at least reply. Hi, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately whilst the class was great (as was the instructor), I felt very uncomfortable attending with my 5 year old son. We were advised over the phone that this shouldn’t be an issue and that my friend attending with her son would be able to oversee the two little ones whilst I stayed with my son, however on arrival the lady doing the check in (who also had quite a rude and abrupt manner anyway) was advising me that my 5 year old son had to stay in the “shoe section” by himself whilst I attend the class. I was a bit confused by this but once we got upstairs explained to the instructor who understood that leaving my 5 year old just sitting by himself was not a very pleasant situation- and allowed for me to stay with my son whilst my daughter attended the class under the supervision of my friend. However the lady from downstairs made a point to find me upstairs and quite rudely suggested that I had left my daughter unattended as she had expected. At this point I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome and was ready to leave with both my children. We stayed as she then decided she would allow it having explained that my daughter was being minded by my close friend attending with her son. Unfortunately, my daughter did then run into a metal basketball hoop at the end of the session. This hoop was at eye level in the soft play area (which in all honestly I’m not sure is a great location for a metal frame in an area for children of ranging heights running around - even “at arms length”) and rather than ask if she was ok, the male member of staff who was present in that area at the time was very quick to announce:“ this is why we ask every child to be at arms length of their carer” which I took as a direct criticism of me leaving my daughter with my friend. Now I take responsibility for me attending with two children and not being able to abide by the rules fully - but in that case I should have been told outright that my attendance wasn’t possible and I would have spared myself this level of interrogation and irritation. I left feeling quite upset and whilst my daughter had a great time I’m not sure I’ll be returning which is a shame - not solely because of the attitude of the two meme eta of staff but because it makes it very restrictive and exclusive of parents who may have another sibling during the school holidays. This is just my feedback. It’s purely to emphasise the difficulties some families have with arranging these appointments with more than one child. A little understanding or empathy rather than pointing the finger and shaming would have gone a long way. Kind regards Nazli Spencer Sent from my iPhone
