They are beautiful pieces with a nice heft that denotes high quality. I bought them for outdoor gatherings since we needed an upgrade from our plasticware. They were also appealing because they were dishwasher safe. One of the cups arrived with a nick in it, but it would have been too expensive to ship it back so I kept it. I put it through the dishwasher for the first time, and a bit of rust developed on the nicked part. According to the website, it supposedly adds "character", but I wasn't too pleased about that. I should probably research how to get rid of the rust.
