Purchase a large facsimile Kentia palm for the living room. Upon inspection, very impressed with the detail and construction - from anything more than 1m away, very difficult to establish that it's not a living specimen. Trouble was, the spread of the palm was/is virtually non-existent - over a month after taking delivery, the palm still looks like it's just been unwrapped (I'd mistakenly believed that it would 'unfurl' itself over time and once it warmed-up. But no. No spread. So - so near yet so far - nice quality artificial plant but a very determinedly upward-pointing one.
