I think you should review your delivery company - I was given no notice of delivery time resulting in an online "nowhere safe notice" followed by a redelivery which left the parcel on top of my postbox which obviously couldn't be signed for and in full view of passers-by.
I have a gated drive with a "caution - dog running free" sign - All other delivery companies seem to have an advised window for delivery - some even have a half hour slot. Gates are opened - dog in the house, no problem.
I can't run the risk of using you again.
