I ordered drawers in which to store prints.
A delivery was made on Monday 11th March by a single driver who would have been unable to bring it into the house had our gardener not been present.
When I returned home I found that it was so heavy that there was no way of getting it out of our hall. My husband is 81 and I am 75. I telephoned the number on the invoice and asked for the set of drawers to be returned. The person I spoke to said that the driver was quite close and would pick it up. The driver rang to say that he could not do it that night but would still be in the area the next morning and would pick it up which he did between about 8.30 am. Again had our gardener not been present the driver would never have been able to do it.
That morning I received a phone call from Micky who said that I would incur charges. I would like to know why they are likely to be so high since the driver was still in the area.
Also if the piece of furniture was so incredibly heavy why we were not warned about this and told that we should need removal men to place it in the room in which we wanted to put it. I suggest that because of this it was not of merchantable quality and should never have been sent to a private home.
The driver was very understanding of our plight and has signed the invoice to say he has taken it back to the warehouse.
I hope you will consider these problems when you receive the drawers and my message. I paid by credit card and if not happy with your decision will inform them of the problem.
I took photos so that we could be sure it was still in the same condition as it arrived as when it was taken away.
I was very disappointed with your service.
