Confused.com showed me two companies allegedly offering me comparable house insurance for £70 and £50 less than what my current insurer was asking. The £70-cheaper company, at the last minute, turned out not to offer paying an annual fee by credit card (my preferred method), and the £50-cheaper's website wouldn't progress, causing me to ring their number. Turned out it would take 2 hours for the call-answerer's system to update, and that would have been after his working day. Reluctantly, I went with my current insurer as I was running out of time.
