LAURA MERCIER Caviar Stick Matte Eye Cream in Vanilla Kiss. RRP: £24.00 COMPLETELY IN LOVE! Hands down my favourite product of this months #cohortedbox. This product screams luxury! The coverage, the colour, the texture, the moisture and the wearability is EVERYTHING! Literally love it. It’s sold as an eye colour and admittedly, it cuts a great crease but as a highlighting concealer this thing is #blessed! Will absolutely be purchasing a full size as have just discovered it comes in metallics. In.love. MONUSKIN Gentle Clenser-180ml. RRP: £22.50. Cleaning cream with Rose and Geranium Essential Oils with Wheat Germ, Peach Kernel and Coconut Oil. I’ve been using this for 4 days now and although it’s a lovely product and nicely presented, I’m not sold. It’s a huge step away from my usual Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and the cream texture isn’t doing it for me. It smells gorgeous and does give my skin a lovely clean glow straight after I’ve used it but I prefer a foaming face wash that I can use with my Clinique Sonic Face Brush (which I live and die by). My skin is also feeling fairly oily and it’s not giving me the breakout control my Clinique 3 step does. Arguably more suited for a drier skin type! MONUSKIN Gentle Toner-180ml RRP: £22.50 Toning Neroli and Petitgrain Essential Oils. Now this little beaut I feel much better about! I like that you can feel this toner working, it’s got a real kick that convinces me it’s doing some good. It does leave a slight residue but smells good and leaves my face feeling gorgeous. MONUSKIN Moisture Rich Colleen Cream -50ml RRP: £29.50 Rose and Geranium Essential Oils, Evening Primrose and Blackcurrant Seed Oil with Marine Collagen. Very much undecided. I love the smell, I love the texture, I love the bottle and I love the moisture it puts into my skin but what I don’t love, is the breakouts. This isn’t controlling my skin as well as my usual Clinique 3 Step does and that’s a deal breaker for me! I feel a bit on the oily side in the mornings and my makeup is sitting on top of the barrier this is creating. Great for dry skin, and I will be using this on holiday when my skin gets sun dried but for everyday use, it’s just a little much for me. DOUCCE Freematic Eyeshadow Quad. RRP: £26.00 Gracie. Nadia. Julia. Sophia. Pleasantly surprised by this little quad! It doesn’t look particularly special and the packaging didn’t scream quality but the colours are pretty impressive! To give them a fair shot I laid down a layer of #NARS Pro Eyeshadow Primer and used an #UrbanDecay E202 brush and the pigment has come out lush on the 2 Metallics! Really nice fill and a beaut of a shimmer. The matte colours are less impressive, took a fair few swipes to get a decent cover and the brush is obviously useless but hey, can’t win em all! CLE Melting Lip Powder in Dessert Rose RRP: £20.00 What a weeeiirrddd product. Colour definitely looks better on than off and the colour is quite me but jeeeeez this thiiiing is effort. The product info claims this is a “transforming pigmented powder to liquid”, “the liquid sets into a flawless matte long wearing tint with both water and smudge resistance”. It does none of these things!!! It goes on POWDER, it’s like putting talc all over your face and hoping it sticks. Only the talc is bright red and any attempt to knock it off results in a crime like mess. Disaster. Ok it might be my inadequacies but I’ve used Cliniques version of this most successfully. This is not ok! It also doesn’t stay where you put it, any little pigments that escape the dreadful applicator (there are many) and fall onto the lower lip immediately blur and smudge and the result is something that looks a lot like Perioral Dermatitis. Gross. Not for me. Not sure what they were going for but I don’t think it was this. AMLY Beauty Sleep Facial Mist RRP: £48.50 Not sure why but I like this but I do. I don’t completely get it, I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to do but I’ve been spritzing this on myself and baes face each night for about 4 days and I’m on board Amly! No it’s not making me sleep better (yet). In fact the first night I used it, I woke up at 6am Monday morning wondering why my BBC Breakfast alarm had gone off at about 9am on a Saturday morning (as confusing as it sounds). The second night I used it, I woke up at 5am Tuesday morning and every 15 minutes thereafter until my BBC Breakfast alarm went off... it’s certainly having an effect on my sleep, just not a particularly desirable one. Nevertheless, I don’t know why I would pay £48.50 for a product I don’t understand but if I had a spare £48.50 and had run out... I might just find myself re purchasing! TOO FACED Melted Chocolate Lipstick in Metallic Candy Bar. RRP: £19.00 I normally LOVE a Too Faced treat but this is unfortunately another weird lip product. Nicely packaged but that’s about where the good stuff stops for me. This reminds me entirely of every lipgloss I used as a 13 year old. The squeezy tube, the vile cheapy taste and the applicator that is about as accurate as I was at applying lipgloss at age 13. Then there’s the colour, my first attempt was a complete bust as I didn’t give it the 12 hour shake it eventually required. 754 coats later, I had a reasonable colour that I do quite like but lordy it’s not worth the time and effort. I can get this with a single swipe of an #urbandecayvice metallic. As for “staying powder of a stain”... I wiped it off with toilet paper. Absolutely not a fan which is a shame because I usually loves me a bit of Too Faced.
