Let's start by saying that I love my kitchen and it was installed beautifully by Mick and Dave. They definitely had an eye for detail and went above and beyond with the job they did. Then let me add the however, there were a few issues. The designer came around and was a lovely man and I was happy with the design he helped us chose. Then, not that I was aware, the "issues" began when the surveyor came around and missed a few problems. Things like the fact that we wanted an extractor fan to be ducted outside, he wrote it on the plans but failed to spot that where the wall needed to be broken through had a lintel and therefore couldn't be done. Also, he then didn't include the correct ducting kit or a piece that should have joined the extractor to the wall units. Then he missed a difference in the width of the room from one end to the other end. Fortunately, Mick and Dave remedied it, but they had an awful job correcting this, having to move the units away from the wall to accommodate the incorrect measurements. He didn't price the job correctly so the fitters had to sort things with their head office. We were never provided with a virtual computer image showing how the finished kitchen should look. Neither were the fitters. The splashback I ordered to match the worksurface was no longer available so I was offered a replacement that was different and did not match free of charge, very honourable but completely missing the point of continuing the worktop up the wall don't you think? I then had to choose a replacement for both without actually seeing them before they were delivered. The kitchen was delivered assembled, not flat packed, 11 days before it was due to be installed but we weren't told this and had to accommodate it, 2 tons in weight, according to the delivery firm, and this wasn't the first time they'd experienced this problem. No advice was given or offered to assist with skip hire for the removal of our old kitchen and all of the waste. We were offered a hippo bag but who knows what that is or what to do with one. Very poor communication for an organization that was getting a substantial amount of money from me. It seems like the company was happy to take my money but once they knew they had it, that's all they were interested in. Only the quality of the kitchen and fitting have made me happy. Thanks Mick and Dave. You certainly earned your pay last week.
