I wasn't sure how much we would enjoy this when I bought this as a gift for my husband since the target audience seems a fair bit younger than our (very) late middle-age, but we have really enjoyed it. The instructions leave a lot of room for adaptation to one's budget and lifestyle and thinking together about how we're going to meet the challenge is a large part of the fun!
