The flights and transfers all worked well. The Abisko Mountain lodge was comfortable and we had a superior room which was spacious and quiet. It was a shame the hot tub wasn't working because the sauna is split into male and female rooms which meant my husband and I would have had to sit in seperate areas rather than be together. The food was good although on the 2 evenings we ate in the restaurant the food could have been served hotter (or at least on warm plates). The trip to Narvik although interesting could have been made better by actually doing something in Narvik or visiting the museum - the trip didn't seem to have a focus. The northern lights photo evening was the highlight of the trip - the guide, the cameras and the instruction on how to take good photos was brilliant. We were slightly disappointed with the trip to the sky station. The meal was nice but the aurora 'exhibition' wasn't quite as good as we'd hoped. We had a lovely day rambling through the national park along various trails and enjoyed the lunch at the tourist centre. The visit to the ice hotel on the way back to the airport was also a highlight. Although we had taken plenty of winter clothing, the loan of thermal overalls, snow boots, gloves and hats from the Abisko mountain lodge meant we were never cold and made the whole experience enjoyable.
