After a few days of staring at a blank piece of paper - I relented and called Adrian.
The result was just great. Whilst I didn't copy his speech verbatim, it was so much easier adapting his rather than writing my own from scratch.
I was worried at first that it wouldn't be very good as he didn't know the people concerned - but the comprehensive questionnaire took care of that.
Knowing your speech is excellent, allows you to enjoy the day far more. I recommend the principle of a speechwriter - and Adrian in particular, wholeheartedly.
