I visited the USA for the first time and booked a return transfer from JFK airport to my hotel well in advance of traveling. I received a request by text to confirm my flight details on the morning of my flight, which I did. I received a reply to say the driver would be waiting for us on arrival. Unfortunately the driver never showed up and the ‘emergency contact number’ which the company provided does not connect.
Myself and my daughter were left stranded at the airport late at night after a long flight to New York in a country we have never visited before and were unfamiliar with. We were forced to wait around for a WhatsApp message from the company to confirm that we should make alternative arangements and would receive a refund. We then had to take a taxi from the airport at and increased cost, using funds that we had allocated for other purposes (as we had paid in advance for our taxi transfers).
Following numerous emails and an investigation which was inconclusive (as the comapany were unable to get an explanation from the driver) we did receive a refund for both trips (as we were unwilling to risk another letdown on the return journey). Issuing a refund, however, does not compensate for the upset and inconvenience caused. This is an honest review so book at your own risk. Going forward I would not consider paying in advance for a taxi transfer (certainly not with Airport Taxi Transfers'.
