I've owned Timberland boots since purchasing my first pair in 1996; a pair that I had refurbished (I think twice) in the Regent Street store. Well made and dependable and ideal for dog walking across fields and moorland. Unfortunately, recent experience suggests that the boots are no longer a quality item although they are still sold at a premium price. From my email record (18 Mar 19 6" Boot water Men Navy £90). The sole of this boot fell to pieces in just over a year. Waterproof Premium 6" Boot Yellow £180 purchased as a replacement (no details regarding the date of purchase visible in my on-line account but ~ September 20). The right boot is not waterproof and my socks are damp after walking less than 1/4 mile on wet pavements i.e. not even on tracks, across fields, through mud etc. I have over 30 years of continuous military service and I know how to look after a pair of boots and determine if a boot isn't waterproof. The difference in workmanship between my 1996 boot and the 2020 Premium 6" Waterproof is astonishing. I suspect that Timberland have outsourced manufacturing to China (or a similar cheap manufacturing base) and really don't give a hoot about quality control. Despite this they're charging premium prices for very poor quality footwear that's suitable for wearing out shopping but completely unsuited to anything that involves wet foot paths, grass and fields. In terms of value for money and quality I'd rate them as deserving zero stars. If you're wanting a pair of decent boots look elsewhere unless you're intent of being overcharged for a poorly made fashion statement.
