Traditional Duck Feather Bolster Pillow and Housewife Pillowcase Traditional Duck Feather Double Bolster Pillow / White / Double Reviews

I'm afraid although initially delighted, the feathers sound crispy in the bolster pillow if you actually lay on the pillow itself.. also the smell is not pleasant. I am aware of the smell of feather in duck/goose feather items which I would have thought, things having moved on in 40 years, might have been eradicated. The last cushion I bought years ago from Laura Ashley and it was quite awful. How do you conquer that problem! So had not bought anything with animal feather since. However I associate the crispy feathers with 'old' pillows left in storage in the airing cupboard at my Grandmothers! Disappointed with that aspect!

Thank you for your review and we are sorry you felt a little underwhelmed by the bolster pillow. I understand you have now had a personal call from Mr Woods. He may have touched on the key points that it is British made and is of the very highest standard available on the market. It is possible that other bolsters you have used in the past had an aroma when you first bought them, this is quite normal, and they may have been quieter after a little use, all of these aspects do normally die down. Bolsters are typically used as an elevation/additional support pillow underneath a down-filled or synthetic-filled main pillow, and in those applications the impact of the sound and smell would perhaps be reduced.
