Right towards the end a very long season of hedgelaying, I had some larger tree removals to carry out, not doubting my smaller Echo couldnt handle the work, but it gave me a excuses to purchase the CS501SX to have in my kit list for the bigger work I encounter. I found the 501 a brilliant saw and a good weight to power ratio, running with a 15 inch bar it suited me just right for the work in hand. I would recommend Echo X series saws & currently have 2 now and very please I made the change to Echo 4 yrs ago

I am a "serious home user"! - I upgraded from a 20yr old Stihl 14" saw, WOW what a change. This is a beast in comparison. Easily tackles full bar length cuts in oak. Massive power and great fuel consumption compared to the retired saw. Fuel burn seems cleaner and less smoky. Easy chain tensioning from side screw and air filter easily accessed but seems thin plastic rather than paper type. First weeks use very impressed. Happy I chose this over the more expensive Stihl. Seems a better value alternative to Stihl and solid - try it!

I wanted a professional chainsaw, that was sturdy, light and easy to use. I found it. I think the cap assist is really useful along with tool less air filter access.

All working well so far but have only used it for a few days. Full score can only be earned with long service. My previous chain saw was so old that the repair shop could not find a valid serial number on it. The 5 year consumer manufacturer's guarantee indicates faith by the makers in the machine's longevity and I hope their faith will be justified. One niggle: the 5 year manufacturer's guarantee is only valid if registered within 30 days of purchase. You need to do quite of lot of website searching to find this out. Most people only think about the guarantee when the machine goes wrong by which time it would be too late. The guarantee could be a strong marketing tool but not if most buyers are either not aware of it or fail to comply with the short time limit specified. Also, no written confirmation of registration or details of how to claim under the guarantee are provided; just a message on your screen saying your purchase has been registered. Come on Echo you can do better than this.

Just written a review on th cs2511 and pointed out on there that the only problem I have with this saw is the fuel caps. I work in utility arb and ground saws get abused smashing through scrub to get to poles and I have lost 2 caps doing this. Other than that I can’t fault this saw, it was a replacement for a 261 and it does the job perfectly

I have previously bought slightly more inexpensive chainsaws and they have usually let me down eventually but this product feels like a proper quality item. I have used it a couple of times so far and it has started very well and cuts beautifully and feels very well balanced which is important. Very impressed so far.

Although I have bareley used this machine, I am assuming it will be as good as all the other Echo tools I have . I am a irregular user of chain saws but need them for my work , but unlike certain bigger brands in this field Echo in my experiance always starts and runs regardless of how long ago I last used it . Hopefully this saw does not prove me wrong
