Osmo UV Protection Oil Extra is available in 3 satin-matt formats;- Clear 420, Oak 425 and Cedar 428. The Extra indicates the product contains active ingredients protecting the coating against algae and fungal decay and it there for more suitable for exterior use,The added preservative main function is to protect the applied coating and offers little protection to the wood it self so it is highly recommended to treat bare timber with Osmo W R Basecoat prior to the application of Osmo UV protection OilUV Protection Oil is a natural oil based and micro-porous finish that will not crack, flake, peel or blister and is suitable for interior and exterior joinery applications, it is not however suitable for flooring applications. The clear finish (420) can be used as a top coat after staining and is compatible with most good quality wood stains prolonging the renovation time significantly. However, when used as a complete finish by itself on bare timber (2 coats) it blocks the greying process by UV-Protection factor 12 in comparison to untreated wood.Supplied in clear (420), Oak (425) and Cedar (428), for other wood coloured finishes see Osmo Natural Oil WoodstainVery high coverage at 24 sq meter per litre per coat, minimum two coat application on bare timber and one coat on previously treated timbers. For a UV protection Oil without any active ingredients see Osmo UV Protection Oil 410Available in 0.75L and 2.5LFor further information and application methods, health and the environment see the technical data sheet in the downloadS tab below.

Not used yet as having whole exterior including rendered walls repainted. oak Door last item. However the new door , two years ago , was treated with Osmo and we have been satisfied, hence the refresh treatment to come.

Really effective for protecting outside hard wood windows and doors and bringing out the natural colour of the wood. This is not a cheap product!

Great product, I've been using this for seven years on my wooden garage and the shiplap timbers still look fantastic. Expensive and needs doing every year, but worth it

I have used this product several times, on both my wooden conservatory and wooden garage. It lasts about three years before it needs re-coating (one coat) and two coats is plenty (on the first occasion only). Can be very thick and I always add a little thinners to make it easier to apply. My garage is 10 years old and still looks superb. It is expensive but is worth it.
