“I bought the Samson Airline Wind Instrument system in time for a gig where I knew the acoustics to be very live. I wanted to give the mic a good test under difficult conditions. I have to say, the whole system behaved beautifully throughout. There was no noticeable loss of tone from my tenor sax, no hiss, and there was no trace of feedback, even when I walked down the steps in front of one of the front of house speakers. I can't have been more than a metre away from it, with the band in full flight, and it worked faultlessly throughout. It was easy to set up, easy to use, and I could dance about as if it wasn't there. Now looking for a suitable padded case as the packaging is very flimsy. Make sure you check frequencies that the rest of your band are using, as this has only one, fixed frequency. Apart from better packaging, the only thing I'd ask Samson to add is the ability to switch frequencies. Other than that, a lovely piece of kit for the price.”
