My expensive steam iron had developed a fault after nearly two years of using. Luckily for me, just before the warranty ran out. So, I was sent a replacement by Philips- a brand new steam iron, exactly the same one. Unfortunately, the replacement broke down as well, after 22 months of using, it had stopped heating up. And that was game over. Philips said, that the replacement's warranty ran out a long time ago, because the replacement warranty started not when it was sent to me but when the original product (the very first steam iron) was purchased by me. How silly is that, that the brand-new replacement does not come with its own warranty. They had offered me some discount on a new iron, but thanks. I will go for another brand. Hopefully it will last longer than 2 years.
