This year marks 20 years of being extorted by this so called 'Land Management' company. Based out of Glasgow they could be on the moon for all the direct involvement they have with the maintenance of my development. They put the work out to local tender and the contract goes to the lowest bidder. The impact on the landscaping here has been a gradual degradation. Whilst large sums have been taken from the collective residents there is no reserve fund for unforeseen works. Anything over pruning or grass cutting involves additional charge. The practice of companies like this buying the rite to extort money from unsuspecting residents in perpetuity needs to be stopped. When in this world is it OK for anyone to continue to be paid regardless of the quality of their work? There has to be a break clause where the service or in this case the lack of a service can be publicly scrutinized and if necessary an alternative provider found and appointed. The alternative would render this arrangement as legalized extortion wouldn't it?
