My experience of Chiltern marble was generally a very good one, although it tailed off in terms of after sales service. I went to their showroom in the Business Design Centre in Islington, north London, where I was impressed at the professionalism and help I received. I received quotes from other paperwork promptly and efficiently prior to ordering and was able to negotiate a reasonable discount. Equally, the templating and cutting of the stone was done efficiently and competently. The installation was done rather quickly but effectively, although I did need to ask them to do over part of the work, as a kitchen cabinet door could not open. I did not receive proper verbal explanation from the fitter on how to care for the worktop which I would have preferred to simply receiving a standard page of instructions. Also, I was unable to get confirmation of my ten-year warranty from the company after installation despite repeated phone calls. This was a disappointing conclusion to an otherwise well priced and decent installation.
