We first heard of Dometic many years ago. Our friend had one installed in a VW Type 2 Camper. We are Very pleased with it in our Narrow Boat, it fit's in perfectly where our old 3 way Electrolux was

The refrigerator was wonderful, small bits make the whole thing great for mid size vessels.

First, Force4 was prompt and helpful in delivering the product. Unfortunately, the product and its manufacturer are less than satisfactory. Dometic is the go-to 12v refrigeration system according to most marine and campervan websites: compact and virtually silent fridge-freezer. However, I had my reservations before buying because a) it is very expensive and b) it had poor reviews for its customer service. I'm starting to wish I had acted on my reservations. Having installed the fridge-freezer, we found that the compressor made a very loud constant humming that didn't turn off until we removed the freezer compartment. Fine for now but we will inevitably need a freezer soon. When the compressor is not running, the fridge is silent, yes. However, there is a a huge amount of condensation build-up on the roof which is soaking all the food. The LED light system indicates no issue. True to everyone's word, Dometic' s customer support is near non-existent. They hide behind a contact form on their website, which apparently is read by someone in Sweden, not their Devon UK outlet as implied. I mentioned the issue with the freezer and explained the condensation. The response was a curt, one sentence answer saying without the freezer, the temperature needs to be at its "highest". I assume this means warmest? Followed advice but still dripping pools of water on food. There was no mention of the freezer, nor any contact details should I want to continue the conversation. Frankly, I would not give Dometic the satisfaction of buying their expensive products while they hide behind their distributors, avoiding any responsibility over their products and customers.
