Solid with well finished knurling - a good alternative to upgrading all my old plates to Olympic as the grip is about the same diameter.

A very impressive barbell, smooth ends so no need to spend forever screwing in a stopper - whoever thought spinlock was a good idea? Like I'm sure a lot of people do when starting lifting weights I initially went with standard barbells because Olympic ones were a bit more expensive and I am not an Olympian - I didn't realize the actual bar ends spun and that makes it more stable when lifting, now I have too many standard weight plates to upgrade. I would recommend an Olympic bar but as standard bars go this fits nicely on my Hardcastle/Mirafit power cage with plenty of room to spare and it will be a lot easier to load plates onto with those clip on stoppers. The price is excellent value for money, too.
