“A nice implementation of E-Ink and Pico. Really good quality PCB build. The examples are easy to work with and a good starting point to modify. I had to play with 3 different micro SD cards until I got a 32 GB to work. I was getting errors with the other two. So keep trying until you find one that works.
I would like to give thumbs up to Pimoroni for having excellent customer service and good shipping rates ( even though I am in Canada, I still find them reasonable). It keeps me coming back and supporting the company. I usually don't take the time to review products, but Pimoroni made a difference repeatedly and I thought people need to know that they can buy with confidence.”
“This is a beautiful piece of work. The screen is outstanding. It's big enough to display many details. The colors are vibrant and accurate. It does best with the kind of artwork that goes into comics, but it's not too shabby with photos.
The board is also excellent. Everything is clearly labeled. There are connectors for interfacing I2C devices and a battery connector. One can see lots of potential for using this device as a weather station or in home automation.
My one complaint is the software. While the hardware is excellent, it works out of the box, many of the examples did not work without modification (some of those were fixed with an update to pimoroni-pico 1.19.5), even then they were buggy. I suspect this because the PicoW is so new and the software will improve over time.”
Ahoy Christopher!
Thanks for the review! Yep - wireless for Pico W is very new and we're squashing bugs (or raising them upstream when appropriate!) as fast as we can. Perhaps you could drop us a Github issue if you're still having problems with any of the examples? https://github.com/pimoroni/pimoroni-pico/issues
