A lot less expensive than other radio controlled watches and the red arrows association is a bonus as I am ex RAF. The clocks just went forward and I woke to find that the watch had adjusted the time as per the spec. Great watch at a budget price.

The watch is excellent, hopefully will never have to change the battery ever, took the watch out of the case and it immediately set time, date and day.

Having recently retired, I treated myself to a good quality reasonably priced Citizen AT8060-09E Eco-Drive radio controlled watch, (part of the Red Arrows set of collectors watches). The RRP was around £350.00p brought from Jewellers Ark online for £270.00p including free Quick delivery. Coming from an engineering background I can appreciate the complexity, design & build of this instrument. If used in the UK, the time and date are checked and set every morning at 2am from an atomic clock at the Mainflingen station in Germany. The instructions suggest that it is charged in full daylight for 5 to 6 hours once a month to keep the battery at full strength. It really is an amazing piece of kit. The bezel actually works, though complex in design. It can be used for simple mathematical calculations i.e. addition multiplication and subtractions etc. Just to impress! There is a complete booklet supplied entitled: Enhanced features & functions guide, which is heavy reading but at least it's been made available to the user. The only misgivings I have are the red dots showing through the strap, they are (for me) just a little over the top. I suppose they could be carefully blacked out using an indelible pen. There is a replacement good quality 23mm strap available from WatchGecko on Amazon for around £18.00p that is much more subtle with fine red stitching around the edges, and not as gaudy! Over all this is a great watch, with time, date, day, chronometer, world times, 24hr dial, battery check meter, round slide rule, radio strength indicator and possibly more that I haven't discovered yet. Buy it & enjoy it.
