A wonderful, vibrantly-coloured figurine of the children's book character Squirrel Nutkin from the imagination of Beatrix Potter. Squirrel Nutkin was a red suirrel who had many brothers and sisters that were a lot more gracious than himself. Every day for a week, they all made little rafts and oars out of twigs and rowed over to Owl Island -the home of Old Brown the owl- to collect nuts for their dinners. Nutkin was very rude to the owl and as a consequence, only left with half a tail. This is why Beatrix Potter describes The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin as "the tale of a tail." The figurine is a beautiful, delicately designed depiction of the character and would make an excellent gift or collector's item.
