“Having a lot of older stock with plastic wheels, which don't run so well, I decided to replace them with metal wheels. The Hornby spoked wheels were the best replacements because the bearings didn't need drilling before fitting. As a result this is yet another set of spoked wheels ready to replace old wheels and fit to old wagons and giving them a new lease of life. The are 00 and are suitable for 00 only.”

“A very cost-effective way of buying wheels and axles for restoration projects or conversion of rolling stock from three-rail to two-rail systems. The wheels are approximately 13.5mm in diameter on the tread, and have metal flanges with a plastic/nylon centre. The wheels are fitted onto steel pin-point axles. If the wheels need to be fitted to stock with inside bearings, such as loco tenders, grip one wheel and gently twist and pull the other wheel off the axle, it can be pushed back on again in the same way. The wheels are a tight fit and once correctly gauged and they will not need any further attention. These are an excellent product and I am now on my second pack!!”
