High quality and good price compared to alternatives. Ensure you have plenty of time available. Small batches and multiple passes needed. It is something special when you are grinding everything by hand. A great addition to the kitchen. It is also highly relevant when there is no electricity available. Overall this will become more and more useful as it is a new tool available. For example, I passed through rolled oats when baking. Will try spices soon.

Grinds dried chills, spices such as cumin and coriander seeds and makes dehusking cardamon pods easier. A nice result for milling a small quantity of emmer wheat after passing through the stones three times. Very pleased with this set of millstones. Excellent value.

Granite Stone Mill. Ok, well I've had a little while with this hand mill now, so feel that I can review it, from all perspectives. Firstly I would like to say that it was promptly delivered after purchase. Construction, is made from very heavy granite, and is quite substantial. It needs to be moved around in the two separate pieces to prevent back injuries. The handle is wood, and fits securely in the runner stone. It's well machined, and looks nice. The runner stone fits on top of a small stainless steel spigot fitted in the bed stone. In use. Don't expect to get fine flour first time around. I do mine about 4 to 5 passes through the mill. Each pass the grain is ground finer. It is a very simple process, not particularly difficult, but a little time consuming. Saying this I loved it, very satisfying experience, being quite theroputic. Just don't put too much grain though in one go. You can tell when you want more as the sound of the stones rubbing together gets louder. Each time use the little brush supplied with the mill, and brush the flour through the shute into a container. Verdict. Although being a little expensive, it does the job. If you want to mill lots of flour though, an electric mill is the way to go, as milling any quantities will take you some time. If you want the rustic feel, and the satisfaction of milling the old fashioned way, this might be for you!

We use this, at the working corn mill at "Acorn Bank" - Cumbria, as a demonstration model of how people used to mill before commercial Mills came about. Does the job admirably. The only down side to it was that the metal post/Spindle that the running stone turns on was fixed in the bottom stone at an angle and was sharp from where it was "nipped" off the stock bar. The upshot of this is that the sharp end of the Spindle could gouge a larger hole in the running stone causing it to potentially to become eccentric.

This is a nice stone mill, but it's made in China. I could have purchased one from Alibaba, including shipping, for less than the mill alone, and then was charged $120 for shipping. Paid almost $300 US for this, with shipping, but ordered directly from China, it would have been around $150 US, including shipping. I feel that this is deceptive advertising, as nowhere does it state that this mill is made in China. I purchased it here because I specifically did not want a mill made in China. Not satisfied with this purchase.

Great mill, we've used it every weekend since we bought it. Really satisfying to mill your own flour by hand and enjoy the process. Delivery was very quick. I emailed twice prior to purchasing to make enquires, but did not get any response. However, they did respond to my partner. So if you aren't getting a response try another email address!
