APH Birmingham Short Run Reviews

4.5 Rating 2,508 Reviews
The only downside was about instructions we received for the coming back-we’ve been told to wait at the airport in area A but we haven’t been told that in that area there are other buses for others car parks coming. So we ended up with an unnecessary trip to the long run car park.

The buses were frequent and only took a short time to get to and from the terminal. On arrival we was directed towards the bus that was sat waiting however it was early hours and dark and the road that the bus was on looked as though it was a one way system so we drove around the back of it and parked to the side. A rude bus driver abruptly told us that we couldn’t park there and told us to move. So we got back into the car and moved to another area. He then continued to be abrubt saying people from the midlands don’t listen. We said we weren’t from the midlands and said that the lad at the gate just said to park near the bus that was waiting. On our return we was met at the bus stop by another driver who had the same bossy attitude so we won’t be using them again.

The location wasn't too far out of the airport and the bus ran regularly. The man who assisted me on arrival was very friendly and welcoming. (Tall Asian male) The shuttler bus driver (Older white medium heigh male working on the 25th August and night of the 1st September) wasn't friendly or welcoming. The website advertises that the driver helps with bags. I am a single mother traveling with a 5 year old girl and two bags and a shoulder bag. I wasn't offered any assistance either on pick up or returning. Even though returning he got out the seat and stood on the road and still watched me struggle. So I feel the advertised assistance with luggage is misleading and very dissapointing. Even without assistance both times I was still friendly and asked him the odd question and overall his demeanor wasn't a pleasant one and he came across incredibly miserable on both occasions I met him. That ruined my experience with APH and due to this I wouldnt use them or recommend them to others. Who wants this vibe when going on holiday or returning back tired after a long return journey. I'd personally prefer to pay the extra to book into the airports own multistory again next time so you can just walk across the road. I gave this a try as cheaper bit it wasn't worth the saving.

We arrived at 4am and there was someone to meet us and direct us where to park, the bus was waiting and we only waited around 15 minutes for others to arrive before heading to the airport. It was a very short journey and they informed us where to wait on the way home. The journey back was the same, we only waited around 10 minutes for the bus and got dropped off back to our car. I would use them again and definitely reccomend.

I booked this carpark as I could use triple value clubcard vouchers. After booking I was apprehensive due to the many bad reviews, However, my experience was fine. The process at the gate was a little slow but I was given a ticket that showed me where to park and I was directed where to go. The carpark is gravel / hardcore but the spaces are wider than usual and well marked out. The bus left after about 10 minutes when it was almost full. The driver arranged the bags to make more space and was reasonably friendly for 6am. The driver didn't assist with offloading the bags but neither did the airport send anyone out to take them to check in and I wouldn't expect them to. On return we waited for about 15 minutes for our bus as they rotate for each carpark, I believe we had just missed ours. the driver stopped by our carpark (Red A) and that was that. (A) was right by the entrance so not sure what would have happened if you had parked deeper in the carpark. Due to flight delays I was a little after the time specified but I wasn't charged for this. Overall its worth it to save some money compared to the airports own carparks but give yourself some extra time.
