In the short time I’ve had this Pfaff 710 I’ve only made curtains which the machine managed beautifully giving a professional finish. It easily coped with the fabric layers and header tape using the integral walking foot and I love the stitch quality. Everything feels very secure when sewing. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try the more complex functions but given the ease of use so far, I anticipate great results for my dressmaking and quilting projects. I am very happy with this purchase.

Wish I had invested in a more expensive machine years ago, and saved myself the pile of unfinished quilt tops in my cupboard. I now have a machine with the key features that over time I have realised are important to me, like needle down for pivoting, wide throat for quilting, and a strong smooth quiet motor with even stitching and automatic tension. Now the frustrations I have with machine sewing are all down to my failings and I can't blame the machine. At the end of the day it is all down to what you want and what you are used to, so my niggles are to do with the slightest gap between the accessories box lid and the machine that I sometimes snag seams on as I feed fabric through, and the time it takes to cut the thread on the auto cutter, but that feature is really really useful. I also like the reminder it gives you when your bobbin is low (so clever!) I also had a very large extension table for my old machine, but after looking at as many videos about the machine as I could find on YouTube - this was during lockdown after all, so I couldn't have a demo, I plumped for the Pfaff and am so pleased that it isn't a faff!
