"Very much enjoyed the course, 20 mins in on the first day and we were using the hand tools to make different joints. The speed was good moving onto the next step as soon as we were ready. Matt was very knowledgeable, sharing his expertise and experience with customers in his trade. Felt fully competent by the end of the 5 days teaching. "

"I can't speak highly enough of this course and the people that teach here, we are a small family business that continued to be let down by plasterers. After completing the 2 weeks course at YTA we now have eliminated a massive issue for our business but equally offered our customers top quality plastering thanks to the YTA team. “I recently completed the 10 day tiling course and found it to be exactly what I wanted. There’s no full or padding as Garry gets stuck straight in and tries to pass on his 37 years experience. I don’t come from a trade, I want to do my mums kitchen and bathroom and it’s cheaper for me to do the course than pay a tradesman. I’ll also do things for family and friends. I did previously tackle my mums bathroom floor before this course and the results aren’t the best, now I feel I can tackle it head on and get it done looking how it should, that’s how much of a difference the course makes. There’s only so much you can learn from YouTube, and with Garry on hand to guide you while you work makes a massive difference. They also have a nice line in biscuits too Thanks Garry and YTA!”

“I have just completed the 5-day kitchen-fitting course. I have spent my life (nearly 50 years - ahem!) avoiding any practical activity needing manual dexterity so it’s safe to say I had no prior knowledge - in fact, I’d probably used a drill once in my life before. Wow! Hand me those tools; I can do this, now! Lawrence is the tutor and what he doesn’t know about joinery and building isn’t worth knowing. He made sure I got plenty of practice with measuring up, levelling out, routing, cutting, drilling - the lot. My confidence using tools is so much greater than I thought it ever would be and I’ve learned so many trade tips about how to do certain tasks; I still think finishing the edging strips is some kind of dark magic (even though I can do it myself, now). I cannot recommend this course highly enough for people who, yes, want to learn kitchen-fitting but also just want to gain confidence using equipment and DIY knowledge. It is a really friendly environment with ‘old skool’ tunes to boogie/sing along with while you work and an endless supply of tea, coffee and choccy biccies - what’s not to love?”

“Top marks to everyone at YTA! I attended a weeks plumbing followed by a tiling course recently. On both occasions courses were highly valuable experience, presented professionally with a enfecis with hands on, practical approach. Upon completion I gained necessary knowledge and skills in plumbing and tiling fields. Most importantly it boosted my confidence of going self employed. Tutors were very knowledgeable in their fields with bags of real life experience. Highly recommend this training centre and look forward to returning for more training.”

“I took on a tilers course here with my labourer. We learned many new high standard skills that were fun challenges to do! I own my own business as a plasterer and wanted to put another skill on my list of “can dos”. I enjoyed the tiling course so much that i will be returning to do my plumbing there too, very soon! I also plan on sending any of my future employees to YTA to gain skills and qualifications and knowledge! Our 10 day course was completed with a classroom talk where you are told everything you need to know in future & how to understand what to do and what steps to take in hypothetical scenarios. The staff were friendly all the way through and had a happy & confident vibe around them. Everyone is happy to help, and to offer a listening ear. Also, Free tea & biscuits! “I have attended the 2 week tiling course at YTA with several weeks gap between the two. I have never tiled anything prior to the course. The tutors were very helpful and I enjoyed the hands-on approach. The knowledge gained gave me the confidence to tile entire ground floor of new built property we acquired and I am starting with our kitchen splashback within days. I would have never been able to start the job without attending the course in the first place. Would I have the confidence to go to someone else's house to do the job and charge for it? Not yet. However, it gives great base to build your confidence while tackling your own projects which no doubt can develop into a new career path. If time allows I will definitely try to enrol on to another course offered at YTA. I am attaching couple of photos still without some finishing sealant but otherwise the job is done, while pets enjoy wet UFH I managed to retrofit prior to tiling:)”

It’s a very practical course that really sets you up to either start completing jobs at home or looking for a new career. Lyndon is both knowledgable and approachable to assist you along the way. “If you are a property developer or looking for a new skill this place is 5 stars. I searched the UK for somewhere that could do courses to help me with my property developing and found YTA. I looked at the reviews on here and FB and took the leap...so glad I did!! I'm 45 and having previously worked in offices and no real experience with plumbing or kitchen fitting both these courses were great! The tutors are all time served professionals, friendly, down to earth and you can tell they really enjoy teaching the trade. The 10 day plumbing course has given my a level of confidence to tackle fitting a bathroom suite, fit and fix radiators and plumb a kitchen. I know how to fix and bend pipes using different methods, understand how a heating system works for both heating and water supply's, and how waste pipes work all the way to the drains. The 5 day kitchen fitting course was insightful and I feel confident to fit the basic kitchen units correctly. I now know how to use a router correctly and cut worktops to fit using male and female joints, and cut out the cooker and sink areas. You also get advice and tips on how to overcome obstacles. I can't thank these guys enough and having booked 3 weeks worth of courses I got a free week to choose an additional course. I will be back there very soon”

“My building knowledge prior to attending YTA was limited to lightbulb changing and putting up shelves. I have completed, plumbing, tiling and kitchen fitting, which have given me the skills and more importantly the confidence to fit my own bathroom and a kitchen in a rental property, with more jobs booked in over spring. The courses are very hands on with tips and essential knowledge given along the way. I will no doubt be back in the future for advanced tiling/plastering if David can put up with me for another week.”

“I cannot recommend Graham and the team at TYA training enough, they are simply brilliant. I went for a one day plumbing course to get feel for basics and was integrated into the rest of the class who were there for the week. By the end of the day I was able to fit pipes, valves and a sink. Graham managed the right blend of theory with practical work perfectly, and was always on hand to advise when things did not quite go according to plan. “YTA is a fantastic training facility. I spent the best part of 9 consecutive weeks building my confidence and honing skills in 5 different areas. Plumbing, Plastering Tiling Brick laying and Carpentry. The teachers are really supportive in the growth of your learning and are on hand to help you at all times, even after leaving with questions answered via email to keep you up to date and on course. My practical ability in these trades has propelled me to fully renevote a house in all these areas alone, and is a great way to save money with the valuable techniques learned.
