About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“The staff are always on hand to help, recently have had the pleasure of dealing with James in the Maesteg centre. He guided me through a plan I could use going forward. Very knowledgeable and informative and look forward to putting into practice all that he’s advised. Very patient extremely knowledgeable and just one of a friendly and helpful staff member.”

“An excellent swimming pool, open from 6:30 am with regular sessions for a wide range of people. The gym and sauna is a useful add on for some. Staff go out of their way to be helpful. As an over 60 my monthly bill is less than £25 , for that I get the swimming pool and full access to Maesteg liesure centre, so its brilliant value for money also.”

“Welcoming and friendly staff who are always happy to help. Good range of gym equipment which is well maintained. Good mix of people of all abilities using the gym, not intimidating at all, even for beginners. A great gym that I'm always happy using.”

“The gym is really well equipped and the refurbished pool is what the town has been waiting for. My grandson has recently started swimming lessons here - he loves it. Really good range of classes too Nice little cafe 👍”
