“I am really dissatisfied with the way I was treated by the store manager at the Guildford store when I tried to return a couple of items today. They weren’t worn and I had receipt for one item and the other was an online purchase. I had all my email payment confirmations and all emails confirming delivery and my ID with me to prove who I was. The way I was treated and spoken to however was anything but professional. The manager was disrespectful and belittled me. I am older than her for sure and have been a loyal customer of White Stuff. I am definitely not keen to go there again though. I also suspect I was treated so disrespectfully because I am of an ethic background and not white.”

“I'm really disapointed with the new returns policy.. What was a simple process.. Is now a real FAF.... I'm. Certainly going to think twice about ordering from WS.. in case it's not suitable and would need to be returned.. Very dissatisfied long standing customer.”

“I have a few pieces from White Stuff and so I have a reasonably balanced view of service, quality and price. Whilst I find that prices are generally on the high side, the sale is very good for picking up a bargain. Quality can vary. I have two shirts and a top that are wearing very well and still look like new. On the other hand, I bought a t-shirt (Hannah) last year that came out of the washing machine with two holes in it. This was very thin, Fairtrade cotton, which I know is ethically grown but isn’t always hard wearing. Customer service varies as well. The staff in Totnes store are particularly friendly and helpful but I was snapped at in a store I shan’t mention. Clearly, personalities can’t all be the same just because they work for the same company and that can happen in any shop. I don’t do delivery, preferring to click and collect but the service is always quite quick. Again, I would return to the store rather than post. I find some of the heavily patterned things a bit too loud for me, but I keep going back, so they must be doing something right.”

“I am delighted with the two purchases I have made of dresses from White Stuff. I chose the Stripe Jersey Dress in rich navy and the Sea Lily Jersey dress in tomato red. They both have a flattering scooped neckline, short sleeves and handy pockets. I have never bought online before and took a chance, based on some of the positive reviews I read. The sizing was accurate. Customers had said the dresses come out big so I chose the small size and it was just right. I am a size 14 and 5' 2" and the length was perfect for me. The dress is not fitted but nevertheless flatters the figure. No zips or fastenings - it just pops over the head, making it very easy to wear. The online ordering process was straightforward and both dresses arrived very quickly. Delivery is free so that was another plus. What's more, I was pleased to be kept informed of the delivery all the steps of the way. I should point out I bought only one dress at first. Finding I was happy with it I then bought the same dress in another colour. I will certainly buy from White Stuff again. Thank you!”

“27 minutes ago Terrible Experience!! I ordered some plimsolls on the 9th of June from White Stuff with next day delivery. This came to a total of £65.95. 1. This amount has been charged twice to my credit card (twice £65.95). 2. I have not received an e-mail acknowledgement of this order from White Stuff. 3. They replied to my first e-mail today to say they have received my order. 4. I have written to them a further three times today to find out when the plimsolls will be delivered. I have not received a reply. 5. Please do not sell goods on your website White Stuff if you cannot provide adequate customer service. Please do not take customers money if you cannot provide associated customer service.”

“My order and payment were accepted, only to receive a curt, unapologetic email stating we have run out so refunded. I emailed back to point out courteous forms of address and possibilities of being informed when the product returns in stock. Slightly improved response, but still no purchase possible nor format to inform me, their customer, of when I will be able to make a purchase. Poor show all round White Stuff... Please work on customer service.”

“I am very pleased with my visit to Totnes Shop today. I couldn't find the type of top I had in mind but the assistant, name Ish, was extremely helpful and bought several options (which I probably would not have picked out myself) to the changing room and I bought three of them. Thank you, Ish, for your help today.”

“I am extremely disappointed with the way I have been treated following recent purchases. I was not informed by shop staff about the recent change in the returns policy, decreasing from 28 to 14 days. Staff were not understanding when I tried to return items and although they could have used discretion and issue a refund to me - they did not. I am now left with gift vouchers for a store I no longer wish to patronise!! Customer Care have been unable to redress this too.”

“Following a trip to the White Stuff Outlet Store at Clarks village where I saw a lovely dress but alas not in my size, I visited the Exeter store looking for this purple dress. I had previously looked on the website but couldn't find it. A helpful staff member thought about it for a moment and said if you bare with me I think I know which dress it is, so went out of her way and found it online in the sale items which was from last summer. They had the dress in my size too, I was elated. A few days later when I received an email to inform me it was awaiting collection. The staff member was so good I was really impressed and have now been into the store and purchased more items. This Exeter Store should be an example to more stores as to what good customer service should be like. Congratulations.”

“Spoke to customer service re an item purchased in sale two months I hadn’t worn it and on closer inspection today found a pull and pen mark. They didn’t hesitate in sending out a form to return the item as faulty. Excellent customer service as always.”
