“The delivery: obviously it was slightly longer than hoped, but they kept me up to date and I didn't plan to start cycling to work until May anyway so this was fine. The email communication was clear and regular. It described each step of the process from manufacturing to shipping etc. so I had a good idea when to expect it as it went along. I took delivery of the kit a few weeks ago, the packaging was totally recyclable. Then, installation was fairly easy and I didn't even need the manual. All in all it took me about hour and a half, but I think if I did it a second time it would be faster. I got a MAX kit and was converting a hybrid 7 gear speed bike. I was able to ride straight after charging as it just worked right away. The ride is really enjoyable with strong power, and it is very enjoyable. The weight on the handlebars did not really change the handling at all, the battery is very small but nevertheless I wondered about this aspect. It's helped me already up many climbs in north Sheffield, what a difference it makes! There are 5 power levels but only level 3 is required even on the steeper hills, 4 and 5 are really strong and I guess drain the battery quite quickly.”

“The Swytch kit has been transformational for me and my bike. I can't recommend the product or the team highly enough. Whenever I email a company and get an auto-reply of a ticket number, I usually expect to have to wait a great many days before any kind of reply is forthcoming... now I can't say that Swytch's replies have been exactly instant, but often the same day or occasionally the next day. With one instance where I had a query about an updated delivery date that took a few more days for them to reply, presumably as they had to think about it for a while before they could confirm the answer to that crucial question of exactly when will the kit arrive! Well the kit did arrive, more or less as expected, and I was prepared for a bit of a wait as it said the delivery would be within a 2 month range March to April at the time of ordering in October. After it was delivered is when the fun really started - I was pleased to see as well that it was all boxed in cardboard, not a shred of plastic packaging, so it all went in the recycling after unboxing which was a big plus for me. I booked a video call to assist with installation and would definitely recommend this option as having an expert walk you through made for very easy work. In terms of the riding experience, it is very smooth and the power is more than I would expect from such a small battery. I ride a Boardman bike which has limited electric options so I am quite confident that I now have one of the best Boardman eBikes around! Definitely would recommend taking the plunge and ordering a Swytch!”

“I recommend the Swytch package for Brompton as a very neat solution. I cannot speak for the other versions for other bikes, but I can certainly say that for Bromptons it fits very easily The overall weight added to the bike seems to be very minimal and it remains easy to carry, this was very important to me as I use it to commute and have to carry it to and from the train. The benefit of the electric power is better than expected, I had watched many videos and reviews before buying but not actually had an opportunity to test ride or try it in real life until riding it on my bike after installation. So for anyone else wondering before buying what it is like to ride, I can honestly say it is worth the wait for the incredible boost!”

“I have received exceptional customer service from the Swytch team. I would like to say that the product and service is perfect.... I can't quite say perfect, but almost the imperfection is what has led to such great customer service. If there hadn't been a few niggles I wouldn't have had needed to contact anyone for support... I was pleasantly surprised with the speed and quality of support I received Disclaimer - I do live in London so I was able to drop into the company in person. I shan't mention anyone by name but two individuals who are in their main service office where they keep all the spare parts have helped me immediately on two occasions I dropped in. Once I had emailed first. Another time I was just passing and had my bike. The first time was to get help with installation of the motor wheel in my forks. They helped me quickly get the disc brake swapped over properly so the motor wheel would slot in and engage with the brakes. I did not have the appropriate Allen to remove and re fit the disc it turns out. Once that was cleared up it was all sorted The second time I had some questions about the battery range, they explained that it varies with usage and took me through what to expect and reassured me in the end that the 6 or 7 miles I was getting on average was about right given I was using it on maximum power. After following their advice and using it more sparingly I am now getting an average of 11 miles before recharging, the amount of assistance is noticeably lower at the lower power level however it is still comparable to the Lime bikes I have used Overall very happy, and also disclaimer Swyrch did ask me if I could post this review after I gave them a verbal summary to this effect I my last visit”

“Swytch allowed me to keep my beloved 1980s road bike and rediscover the joy of cycling as an older man ( age 70). The electric assist is smooth and sufficient to help with hills , whilst still requiring my own effort .”

“The Swytch was very easy to fit and has made has transformed an inexpensive bike into a great performing electric bike. I usually only use it for shorter journeys but is quick and powerful. It makes uphill stretches easy. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase”

“It was easy to convert my existing bike that fits me well to a Swytch bike. I am a quite large man and it gives me just the little extra I need to keep up to my wife. It’s easy on the knees so just what I needed.”

“The Swytch kit I installed on my bike was very easy to install with just a minor modification made to my fork. Some video tutorials I found online helped and game time the confidence needed to go through with the modifications. The kit works great and I have had zero problems since installation was completed over a year ago.”

“Only affordable way for someone heavy like I was to get an e-bike. Put the kit on my sit-up-and-beg bike and haven’t looked back. Amazing. It’s like permanently going slightly downhill. Makes cycling such a pleasure.”

“The Swytch Brompton kit gave me the opportunity to convert my Brompton to an electric one. I loved the fact that I can change my mind at anytime and revert my bike to a muscular one. The installation is pretty easy but some parts need a little bit more of attention like the pedal sensor (you need to find the best place to put the sensor and the right alignment with the magnets). It was my very first electric conversion and my very first wheel change ! I love having an electric bike so my commuting is a lot easier.”

“I would like to give different aspects of the Swytch wheel different stars. Overall it gets a 5 star with me. The wait time of getting the wheel is a 3 star because it took almost a year to get it. However, it's a start up company so I understand there are issues. They did a pretty good job communicating the set backs and wait time. 4.5 stars for their customer service. I had to communicate with them several times at the time of purchase and after receiving my wheel. My first communications were extremely fast. It was really impressive. The latest communications were a little slower but for a start up that had just sent out a huge batch of product, they did a pretty good job and took care of my issue accurately and to my satisfaction. The price, I would give 4 stars for the current price because buying a good new ebike is well over a $1000 everywhere I looked, but 6 stars for what I paid for, since I jumped onboard early on, I got a great price. I really like my bike so I really like that I could keep my bike and just convert it to an ebike. Wish I could do the same thing to my car. ;-) The wheel itself I would give a 7 star rating. I love this thing. It was fairly easy to install. I had a few issues cause my bike has a few places that are not the size they designed for. I couldn't use the brake sensors but I found they don't really matter. Once I got it all working, it was like a breath of fresh air. My bike is over 11 years old with thousands of miles on it. It just isn't as fast as it used to be. The Swytch wheel has changed everything. I love this thing. I like to commute to work, about 10.5 miles, and the last two miles are up hill. I used to get to work exhausted. Now, I get to work almost ten minutes faster, still feel I got a great work out, and feel great! I don't feel like laying down under my desk all morning. It really has changed my biking commute in ways I didn't think possible. So glad I didn't have to spend a thousand plus dollars to get a new bike. Thank you Swytch team! You made my tired old bike awesome again!”

“My wife and I both ride Bromptons so we bought two kits. Swytch seem to be the only supplier for Brompton kits that doesn't require irreversible engineering. This means the kits can be removed and the bikes sold as original should you want to do that. Their pricing makes it a worthwhile upgrade when compared to other upgrade kits or even trading in your existing bike for new. I’ve had no significant issues fitting the kits and the usability of the bikes with them fitted is very good, although we have still to do any really significant mileage. Folding is unaffected which was significant for us as we wanted to have bikes where we can get both of them into the car boot (mid sized family car). Some care is required in routing the existing front brake cable and gear cable around the battery. One word of caution, fitting the pedal sensor can be a little fiddly and requires some care but once you work that out the rest is straight forward. Overall I’ve been very pleased with the installation and find riding the bikes quite easy. The power setup options are many and varied and if I was truthful could do with some simplification but that’s a minor thing. Overall very happy.”

“So far so good. I have finally managed to take the bike out for a significant commute to work. Unfortunately, I am still recovering from a knee injury suffered from refereeing soccer... The commute is about 20 kms each way. In the morning, on my way to work the throttle was only getting me up to 8kms per hour. I figured that this had to do with a setting that I must have messed up. On Pedal assist, at the highest level, I could get the speed up to about 36 km/h on the highest gear with medium effort. I usually like to push hard when pedaling a non-powered bike. This felt nice, but the settings were off as I know that the bike can generate more power when I had tested it around the block during the colder months. Arrival to work was nice and a little earlier than usual. Plus my knee didn't bother me at all. If anything, the slight effort strengthened it. Before heading home in the afternoon, I managed to reset the system and wow! Using only the throttle, got me to a top speed of 46kph. This draws quite a bit from the battery. I then took a wrong turn and added a couple of kms to my ride. So I got worried about range as I didn't want to have to pedal without assistance with a bad knee. I stopped using the throttle after about 10 minutes. Instead, I set it to level 9 pedal assist. Speed remained high and between 40 and 46 kph. Got home much faster this time around with one bar of juice left in the battery. What a fun ride! I use clipless pedals and love how I can just get going by twisting the throttle and worry about clipping in later. I just wish the computer nomenclature, navigation and instructions were more user friendly. I'll figure it out in time.”

“The Swytch kit has been fantastic. I have a mid-range hybrid bike that I use to commute to work and back. Since putting the Swytch kit on, the five mile ride has been a dream. The added speed and extra power on hills has made my ride fast and easy. The kit adds a fair bit of weight, but I appreciate the sturdiness and power of the motor wheel. I really enjoy the fact that everything is weather-proof and that the battery pops off easily to charge it indoors. After a fresh charge, the battery pack always has enough charge for my round trip to work. I have also had great experiences with the Swytch customer service team. They are very responsive, friendly, and helpful. They were kind enough to send me a spare part free-of-charge when I accidentally lost a piece. Overall, great value for money.”
