Had a 2pm appointment which was cancelled at 2.25pm. Extremely poor show. Will not be using this company.

It was a badly fitted system from thee start, the batteries had to be replaced after a month because they didn't work. Production was intermittent and finally after 3 years it stopped working altogether. Project solar passed me from pillar to post so I ended up paying for an independent report and scaffolding. Then there was the cost of fixing it. Project solar are trying very hard not to pay up, but interestingly are willing to pay for the independent damning report.

The Sales Representative, who visited, gave incorrect and misleading information. When the contract was signed and the installation date agreed, the Company determined that my roof tiles were unsuitable. Someone was supposed to visit to examine the tiles, but I have my doubts that anyone did. The Company cancelled the contract leaving me with a lot of problems to sort out. I certainly will not have anything to do with Project Solar UK again. I will not recommend them to friends and family and I would urge anyone reading this review to bear in mind my experience before proceeding with this Company.

Costly mistake - I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole! Project Solar UK installed in June 2019, this is the third time we are having to call them out due to issues with the installation. To date, we can't even tell if we have made a penny of saving as their call out charges of a hefty £325 defeats the purpose of us even having solar panels. They make you sign small print which apparently allows them to continue to rip vulnerable customers off. It's been a costly mistake! Do not go anywhere near this company if you need solar panels installed - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

bad experience and will advice anyone to stay away. I wanted to install solar panels and batteries and Project solar was the first to call me. They arranged a day for the survey to be done which I accepted. on the day, Mark was sent and he went through everything and he also did a survey which he confirmed that all was fine. after everything Mark made me and wife sign nearly 20 pages of paperworks and he also did a credit check for the finance which was approved. I also paid £250 as deposit on the day. Mark booked an installation date. To be honest I was happy with everything until the next day i got a call saying the installation has been cancelled that my roof tiles is not suitable for the panels. i said ok but why did Mark, your surveyor, who spent 3 hrs in my house doing all the checks and he did not spot that the roof tile were not suitable and there response was that Mark was not a roof specialist. so to cut the story short, Project solar sent me an incompetent surveyor to do survey which is very worrying and secondly he made me pay deposit of 250 which Project solar have turn around to say that my deposit will take 14 days to be paid back to me because I signed the paperwork which is also worrying because yes i signed the paper but I was not the one who broke the contract but rathe Project solar did. and thirdly, they have done a hard credit check on me and that will remain in my credit file for 3 to 6 months and that means I cant apply for any credit facilities within that time. Project solar is a disgrace for sending out an in competent person to do a survey which makes me wonder if the panels would have been installed by a competent engineers or diy engineer, only God knows. And refusing to pay me back my money for them bridging there own contract and putting the blame on me shows how bad the company is and would advice anyone to stay away.

We were very pleased how all members of staff dealt with our solar panels installation from start to finish. From David the surveyor, Frank the electrician and Tom the solar panel installer. They were informative and professional during every step of the process. Also left our property clean and tidy after completion. We highly recommend this company.

Beware of these scammers. They will sell the stuff then worst customer service starts. I call them scammers because they offer you a very attractive incentive. They say “if you bring 4 customers your panels are fully pai off” which is trapping more customers through an existing customer who is already trapped is a £10k debt. Their customer service sucks as they keep telling you that we have a written contract so you are bound to live with it. Can’t say anything good about them because I can’t think of one. In my case the initial survey was wrong. The brilliant agent worked out 12 panels can be fitted on the roof. When fitters came they couldn’t fit more than 5 panels. Rest is the bad experience. Their way of customer service proving you in wrong because you have signed a contract. If they call or knock at your door, just slam the door shut. It’s not worth wasting your time listening to their garbage.

I have just started looking solar panels for my property. I tried to arrange a quote however Project solar would only arrange if my husband was there, and was told he would need to make the decision: How sexist!! I have now read the reviews below and pleased that I end my call.

Good & informative preview visit. Well coordinated and efficient installation. Surprisingly strong energy production especially with battery support for overnight supply. Only negative is the cost being at the upper end of the market but I went ahead anyway having had experiences with less proficient installers at a previous site.

I'm so relieved I came across these reviews. We have had our sales talk from Project Solar UK and have been quoted £16,000 for 10 panels. Being distrustful, though it was a very good pitch, I decided to do a bit more research. What made me very suspicious was the claim of a 99 year warranty on the panels and inverter. What on earth lasts 99 years and what's the point if were already pensioners. We were told this warranty was underwritten by Lloyds so even if the company folded, our warranty still stood with Lloyds. I wonder what Lloyds reaction would be if, in 50 years, the new home owners demanded a refund under warranty 'cos the inverter failed.

The whole experience from start to finish has been superb. Every step explained and daily contact pre and post installation. Installation was very easy and workmanship to a very high standard. Would highly recommended, and saving money and the planet!

Installation teams were very friendly and efficient. Trying to get an answer from their customer care regarding getting the scaffolding taken down and been fobbed off for so many weeks with times and dates that the scaffolding company new nothing about their customer care team blamed the scaffolders and the scaffolders blamed project solar. Want our money but don't want to deal with complaints or problems. I fear for the future with our solar panels reading these reviews.

So glad the appointment didn't proceed after reading these reviews. Received a call on a Sunday morning to confirm the appointment the next morning. I confirmed this was still fine and mentioned I was working and my partner would be at the appointment. Sales chap was really rude and said we both needed to be there. I explained I couldn't change my working hours and he said there's no point meeting and promptly hung up! AVOID

I’m giving just 1 star purely for the after sales care. Installations went really smoothly and professionally, nothing to complain about. Installation happened in early August. We have tried to contact the office to arrange for an engineer to visit, we have few issues with the application and problems with the system itself. Still no visit or explanation from anyone and we are in October!! We are very disappointed with the customer care, bearing in mind the amount of monies we have spent on the product. Seems like there is nobody in the there willing to help with the very important issues we have been having. At the moment based on the poor customer care, highly unlikely I will be recommending a product from Solar Project.

These have got to be to worst solar panel installers in the country, the state of my roof once the panels had been installed was atrocious, tile broken and stuck with mastic, they did come back after I complained to replace the broken tile only for me to check after they had said everything is now put right only for me to find another 14 tiles needing replace that’s a total of 42 tiles, please do not use this company the workmanship has to be the worst in the country

Please do not use this company. It’s a very stressful experience to try to resolve any issues with project solar uk. We had the panels fitted almost 2 months ago. It supposed to be 15 panels. We’ve had few other quotes, from other companies, stating that 15 panels will not fit on one side of the roof (front of the property) so we called the sales man - Joe to inform him what we have been advised elsewhere. Joe has reassured us that 15 panels will definitely fit on one side. Once the installation team has arrived, I overheard the roofer saying to his colleague that 15 panels will not fit so they’ll just fit what they can. Nobody has asked us about it and if I have not overheard the conversation then we would not receive what we have paid for. We called Steve - project manager immediately and asked what was going on. He advised us that the sales man have not measured the roof properly and they will install what they can and refund us for the panels which have not been installed. We disapproved that decision and advised that we won’t be going ahead with the installation. Steve has then informed us that they will install the rest of the panels on the other side of the roof then (at the back). We’ve had to wait additional couple of weeks for new scaffolding to be installed as well as the scaffolding at the front of the property to be extended as it wasn’t fitted wide enough initially anyway. Once all the panels have been installed we have been advised that the roofer will come back in a couple of weeks time to fix few roof tiles which they’ve damaged on the installation day. About a month later I called project solar to ask for the update. Customer services first advised me that they have our case marked as completed and were not aware that any work is still required. They then advised me that they are still haven’t received the photos of damaged tiles from the roofer. I have informed them that that’s not possible as the roofer has sent the photos to Steve when he was with me on the installation day. Customer services then told me that it’s due to the reason that our tiles have been discontinued and they find it difficult to replace them. With the extreme weather conditions throughout late July/early August I asked project solar to take the scaffolding down, whilst waiting to find replacement tiles, as it was causing H&S risk with having to have all the windows shut all day and night (as anytime anyone could break in through the windows). Customer services have asked me to be patient and booked for the tiles to be replaced on the 30th of August. I waited all day and no one turned up. I called customer services and have been informed that I was never booked in and that they still haven’t found the tiles. The lady advised me that she will email Steve asking how will they compensate me for waiting at home all day and taking time off work for nothing. I have never heard back. I asked again for the scaffolding to be taken down in a meantime (as we are going away for 2 weeks soon) and Megan advised that she will treat it as a matter of priority, last week, and get back to me the same day. The following day I called her and asked for the update. She advised that she hasn’t heard from the scaffolding manager so won’t be able to assist but will send another email. 1 week later - today, I called again just to be advised that no one from scaffolding team is answering phone but they will send them an email. Everytime I am trying to get in touch with Steve - project manager to resolve the problem apparently the customer services sending him an email, to ask to call us, but he never responds. Scaffolding manager doesn’t respond to emails from the customer services either. I am now left with damaged roof and scaffolding at the front and the back of my property since beginning of July. I would like to know how has project solar ltd have ever been granted ISO9001 when ISO 9001 defines customer satisfaction as a customer’s perception of the degree to which the customer’s requirements have been fulfilled. I would also like to understand how do they get away with breaching Customer Rights Act 2015 under section 52…

If I could give minus stars I would. People are giving 5 stars to Project Solar because they answered all their questions and were polite. wOw really. Only cos they want your money. The company is absolutely useless sells average panels and ignores your emails and texts for weeks. We have had our panels installed 4th may and still waiting for bird mesh to be fitted. Having my phone call answered by Alex, I was told I have to go to a certain website to purchase birds mesh as project solar don’t do it!!!!!!! What a load of rubbish. I have paid 16k for that nonsense and hassle. Oh no no no!

31 May 2022 Wish I never heard of project solar. A project solar rep visited our house, and after looking at our energy usage calculated how many panels and batteries we needed. The £15000 system failed instantly and after emailing a couple of people expressing my concerns, I received no reply, no investigation or reason to it's failure. 6 months later I received a £1400 electricity bill, and when I questioned this, because the solar system should cover my usage, they said it had never worked. The customer resolutions team denied my compensation claim, saying their system was fine and it was my fault it failed, even though it was found the inverter had failed. I'm now left with a £1400 bill on top of the cost of panels that have done nothing. The installation team were also very slap dash leaving mess and debris everywhere they worked. All in all a very disappointing and disatisfying experience and would highly recommend other people look else where.
