“I rarely write negative online reviews and have waited for a period of time before posting this one as our family was made distraught by the treatment we received from Royds Withy King; I wanted to gain some perspective before committing this to public viewing to ensure my review is fair and measured. We approached this firm in March last year (2021) to ask if they would act in a medical negligence claim on behalf of our elderly father who was shamefully neglected and also suffered various physical injuries while in the ‘care’ of a local hospital. Royds Withy King strung us along from March 2021 until 27 October 2021 leading us to believe that they had taken on our case and were working on it. We were asked to supply various types of information over these months and to sign various documents. At no point were we informed during this seven-month period that Royds Withy King were in fact just considering whether or not to take on our case. On 27 October 2021, I received a phone call out of the blue from Royds Withy King to say they would not be taking on our case and would be closing the file. Our family was devastated. (We were not interested in financial gain but wanted the hospital to be fully cognisant of its failings and to take steps to remedy them.) I would NOT recommend this firm. If you do go ahead with them, don’t assume they are working on your case, even if (as happened with us) they request documents, information and signatures over a period of months. The partners at this firm need to make it clear to potential clients whether or not they have actually taken on a case and how long it will take them to come to a final decision about it (seven months in our case, which seems excessive – especially as we didn’t even know during this time that they had not yet decided whether or not they would be taking our matter forward). They also need to realise they are dealing with human beings and treat them as such.”

“If you are looking for a solicitor in Bath I would not recommend this law firm. They have been very slow in the conveyancing for my house sale, which fell through after months of ineptitude. Now they want to charge me full price for the first sale, which did not reach completion. They also want to charge full price for the second sale, even though much of the work is transferrable.”

“The worst solicitors in the country. They wrote very rude letter to my wife during divorce. They a bunch of cow boys just after constant money without doing a good job and upsetti g everyone. They have no honour and no dignity do not use”

“Used their Oxford office for the purchase of a Commercial property and was left feeling really frustrated, extremely poor communication and having to forever pester them to get things done. Having run a successful business for many years I have no idea how firms like this still exist, and could not recommend them. Take my advice and find yourself another firm, I would never use them again.”

“Rude and Incompetent is an understatement. They fail to return calls or emails without constant chasing . They also provide incorrect information when you call and ask for help, Then brush it under the carpet when they finally return your emails.Avoid this firm if you want competent, friendly and efficent staff.”

“I was very happy with the service I received last September when my mother died. I answered the survey you sent me to that effect. However I was very distressed and upset to receive an email a couple of days ago asking Mrs Irene Dawes to answer a survey. As I say above she passed away over 8 months ago! Perhaps you should update your database.”

“These people are absolute amateurs, inexperienced with dental negligence claims, and at the first obstacle they will close your case for no good reason, even to the point of losing mail sent out to you, having bogus medical expert reports done ( pro bono ) free of charge, we all know what that means, no substance, do not employ these people, you will be sorry.”
