“My experience sounds very similar to previous ones. I paid for wool and was later told they didn’t have enough of the right shade but I would definitely get a refund. After many emails and phone calls I find they are bankrupt. Was it ever a real company or just a scam? Shocking!”

“Placed an order in January 2021 for roughly £25. 1 month later my order still hadn't arrived. I emailed them to get a reply that they are out of stock. I waited again... another month...still nothing. Emailed again wanting a refund. Got a reply that they are backed up on the refunds department. Waited again. Emailed 3rd time to get a reply that the refunds lady was on compassionate leave. Now the website is down! WHAT A SCAM!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM”

“Having read these reviews I think I also have been ‘done’ by this company - website allowed me to order wool to the value of over £80 and then contacted me to say wool not in stock afterall and that my refund would be handled by accounts department immediately. 5 weeks later I am still waiting! Review site won’t allow me to post review unless I put in one star! Come on Wise Badger prove us all wrong by honouring your refunds! Website down due to ‘Maintenance Work’! Shameful!”

“I made an order for a small amount and as they said it wasn’t available, they would refund the money , which didnt happen. Impossible to contact them and the website is down. I think they have gone bust! Feel sorry for others who have paid out a lot of money. They continued to take payments when they knew they couldn’t fulfil the orders. Disgusted!”

“DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. Said item was out of stock and offered refund which 2.5 months later has still not arrived. They can answer emails very quickly when you are placing an order but never reply when you are asking for a refund of your money, which should never have been taken as the item was not in stock. THEY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Luckily my order was only for a small amount, but that is not the point.”

“As per other comments I am awaiting a refund from wise badger. I live in N Ireland and wondered why I didnt receive my order. They said due to delivery issues they would be cancelling my order. My order was placed on 8 Jan and money taken on 11 January. Despite several reminders I still have not received that refund. I noticed that all sales communication has now stopped to my address. I hope this prompts them to deal with this as I will be taking further on principle”

“I ordered wool, payment was taken and I got an email a day or 2 later to say that the wool I ordered was out of stock and that I would get a refund. I am still waiting for my refund 10 days later and after reading other people's reviews, I am thinking I am not going to get it. This is happening to so many people - why are these chances allowed to keep taking money off people.”

“Ordered goods took my money immediately, then after 10days was informed wool discontinued,3 weeks later still waiting for a refund,am going to report to my bank to be dealt with through fraud dept ,after reading all the bad comments,and will never use this company again.”

“Same as other reviews. Placed order and then told items out of stock and being refunded. After many promises have still not received refund and now they just ignore my emails. Have created a complaint with 'resolver' through money-saving expert.”

“Same story as other reviewers, ordered, items out of stock but wasn't informed until I emailed them. Still waiting for a refund, 3 weeks despite being assured that they would make it a priority. I paid via PayPal so have opened a dispute, however, will still have to wait ages before PayPal force a refund. Order at your own risk, this company do not abide by their customer service policy at all.”

“This company lets you order out of stock items. You will then have to have to argue your money back from them very bad service. I still don’t have my refund. DO NOT USE. They really should be investigated”

“They were not able to fulfil my order so offered a refund which I preferred. I have had two emails saying their accounts dept have been told and will make it priority. Still no refund. This to me is theft I have no goods and no refund. I dislike dishonest companies. Why can some get it so right and others !!”

“I placed my order near the end of May, they took payment on 31st May and still not received my order. I have phoned and got no response and emailed twice and no response. What can I do now. I am £44.40 out of pocket”

“Excellent. Very happy with the service that I have received from Wise Badger over the last two years. My orders arrive very quickly and well packaged. Great choice of yarns. I had jumpers knitted in Snuggly DK for my 4 grandsons at Christmas, I needed to order extra and Wise Badger were extremely helpful in checking they had the same dye lot for me.”

“Totally agree with other complaints. Hopeless and exasperating is right! It is also false advertising as someone else has also pointed out (or I would call it blatant lies). They just talk the talk but dont walk the walk and don't deliver as promised. Over two weeks for me. I will never deal with this company again. I have now read similar reviews on other sites but whoever responds has their head in the sand. DON'T BE TAKEN IN BY THE LIES FROM THIS COMPANY.”

“This was my second order and same problem as last time. Orders are not sent out on time and no contact from them to advise re delays. I paid first class mail but my order was not sent out until over a week later. I will not be ordering again from them.”
