“They quoted me 570£ for a job that on average costs around 300£. They tell you costs without VAT which is dishonest. The man on the phone told me more things were broken than actually were. Thinking I didnt know anything about the car. I got the job done for 130£ at kendal car center. I asked to look at the quote and there was lots of hidden costs for things that were not needed. And services that are usually done as part of the hourly rate. And when I said I do not want them to work on my car they would not let me tow it away then said I have to pay them 60£ to release my car even though they provided no service. Sort of like ransom money... I will never go to this garage ever again.”
“While on holiday in Lake District the clutch went on my car. AA patrol diagnosed a broken Slave Cylinder and could not repair so towed me to Windermere Auto Centre. We were due to go home the following morning so was very concerned about how to get home. Needn't have worried. I spoke to a very nice gent called Richard at 0915hrs he assured me the car was on the ramp, the faulty part removed and replacement ordered and was expected to be finished by 1300hrs. True to his word was all boxed off and on the road by 1310hrs. Faultless service thank you very much”

Remember him charging £80 to do illegal taxi services from Ableside to Windermere back in 2015 when area was flooded.”
“My wife and I were visiting the Lake Distrct two weeks ago from Ireland. When staying in Ambleside, we noticed a fast puncture. We drove to the nearest garage; about 100 yards away in Ambleside to get it repaired. They refused on grounds they were a man short. They would only put air in the tyre and told us to drive the 3 miles to Windermere. Never had such an experience before.
We had to drive slowly to Windermere Auto Centre as the air was going out of the tyre. Another mile and the tyre would have been ruined. Windermere Auto Centre fixed the puncture in 10 minutes. They were efficient, friendly and very helpful to us which we appreciated. very much. It is the place to go.”
