Broadband speed download and upload is good. Customer service and advice not so good. WiFi range wasn't as good as previous provider with two rooms with no signal. Called Wessex and they said they could look at boosting the signal from the installed WiFi beacon - why not just do this at initial install?? Was originally advised that me current home phone would not work on Wessex and to get a VoIP compatible phone. I did this pre switch over so I was ready and had no break in service, at a cost of £70 for a new phone. When switch over day came, the new phone didn't work. Called Wessex to be told that I shouldn't have been advised to buy a VoIP phone as would not work and also that my current phone would not work. I ignored this, plugged my old phone in, and hey presto, it works fine...a lot of messing around and wrong advice for something that should have been straight forward.

Eventually after a few missed or late appointments we had the ground works done however we still haven't had them return to fix the cable to the building...... picture attached Instillation went smoothly, Staff all polite and fibre working well

It’s ok, TBH I thought with fibre I’d get full strength service all the time which I haven’t, but on the whole it’s been pretty reliable.

The installation was done professionally and the quality of the service is good but their pricing is way out of line compared to their local competitor Jurassic Fibre.

Really, really appreciate having fibre broadband but very expensive. Staff really helpful but messages were not passed on between different parts of the company. I had to make people aware of things. Hole at bordering field edge where external cable spliced to connect to house fibre cable still not filled in.

After a lengthy and stressful experience, computer and 'phone are now satisfactory. At present I can see no benefit in having switched from Plusnet to Wessex; in fact monthly costs have increased. However , time will tell.

We thought we would receive a home visit prior to installation to discuss where the fibre would come into our house. This didn’t happen, just a sudden phone call that the crew would be arriving that afternoon. Crew took it to nearest point at the back of our house. Then another crew came 2 days later to put equipment into the house, but because there had been no previous discussion about the best place for it to go, the second crew were limited to the length of cable they had. Then over the weekend we did not have the internet at all for several hours because of a technical issue!!!! So the jury is out at present as to Wessex’s ability to provide a really good service.

It keeps cutting out, so I have to keep reconnecting. And on the smart TV, programmes sometimes "hang". Very annoying.

An improvement to the internet service pre that from Wessex BUT 1. The installation of the ‘Junction Box’ in one of my fields is not great with the soil infill surrounding it having collapsed 2. Whilst the internet speed to the main router is fine the distribution throughout the house is not good, indeed to get any distribution to all rooms in the house would require many many more hubs on the mesh network That said all of the personnel involved throughout the external and internal installation were professional, friendly, very helpful and a credit to Wessex Internet

BB speed is OK but not great. The costs are very high (more than double what we paid for BB supply to our previous property, 1.5 miles away). I guess this is because there are no other providers to this area at the moment. I hope that changes.

Noticing that the service goes down ( frequently albeit for short periods of time around midnight /the early hours of the morning) Any ideas as to reason?
