Slick installation in a timely manner of fibre broadband to our business with speeds of 100mb/s. No complaints, well done.

I expected around 100mps as demonstrated on connection. In reality, I’m only getting around 45. A massive improvement on previous broadband but I still get occasional buffering on downloading films/catch-up etc. I am also surprised to be using up my allowance in first 3 weeks of use. I had 4GB of usage with previous provider and never got anywhere near 4GB in a month. I have used catch-up marginally more, but have been surprised how quickly I seem to have used my allowance. Overall a huge improvement but slightly underwhelmed at usage and download speed.

We have a little way to go leaving BT, but Wessex Internet is certainly proving to be a significantly better service.

point of contact information was not passed on to field operatives, therefore water pipes were severed, in more than one place. The operatives did not check that all was well before they left and it was very fortunate that we realized that stock had no water. we have incurred a water bill that is higher than normal as we are on a water meter. There was a long time delay from field and garden installation to having it installed, which would have been more acetable if we were kept informed, instead we had to keep chasing for an update. we are still incurring a bad reception on the tv for bbc 1 and 2 which we believe is a bad connection but when we have questioned this with customer services we were told flatly it was nothing to do with them and refused to send an engineer to check it. As the fault is still happening we are taking steps to get our own engineer in to correct this problem. We are disappointed with the service.

Wessex Internet installed FTTP to my business in the last week and now we get upwards of 300Mbps download and 200Mbps upload. They are a very friendly and helpful company. The fibre cable was laid without problem and terminated exactly as I wanted.

Two issues. One, there was absolutely no visibility on whether they would actually set up a network in the area, when they would do the work and when they would light you up. This means it is impossible to work out how to dovetail finishing your existing broadband contract. Due to a separate one-off factor on top, again due to Wessex, I have been left with an 18 month contract with Vodafone running alongside Wessex, and I believe that if Wessex had communicated better, I need not have been left quite so out of pocket. Second, the installation process was fairly chaotic. No timescales given, different teams visit at different times, whenever happens to suit them. Having said all that, now the broadband is up and running it is excellent. The customer service, once installed, is very good indeed. There is no doubt that Wessex is a brilliant company and we are really pleased with the broadband, but it would have been so much better if they could have given some visibility/managed expectations surrounding whether the project would go ahead and when.

Very pleased with the Internet, it does what you said it would. However, I opted to also change my telephone as my BT connection was so bad and, unfortunately, it took you from 23rd November, when I installed the first box until 6th December, when an engineer came to my house, for the problem ( the phone cord socket) to be corrected. Since I had in the interim received another box for the phone with another unserviceable phone cord socket, I am concerned that you are buying and supplying goods which are not fit for purpose; the engineer knew exactly what the problem was immediately and it took him less than 5 minutes to replace the unserviceable socket with one which works. This comment about your phone equipment is intended to be helpful, it is not a complaint. Overall your helpfulness and friendliness in dealing with me have been excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend the standard of your internet and phone (since yesterday!) although would have to put a caveat on the standard of phone equipment you are purchasing to send to your customers. An improvement to the internet service pre that from Wessex BUT 1. The installation of the ‘Junction Box’ in one of my fields is not great with the soil infill surrounding it having collapsed 2. Whilst the internet speed to the main router is fine the distribution throughout the house is not good, indeed to get any distribution to all rooms in the house would require many many more hubs on the mesh network That said all of the personnel involved throughout the external and internal installation were professional, friendly, very helpful and a credit to Wessex Internet
