Found the website confusing as to what exactly was being booked and facilities, couldn’t really filter out many options.

I had a good weekend escape at SpringWood Fishery Lodge, the place is lovely and I would recommend it. One of the downsides was that the lodge hadn't been properly checked before our arrival, as there was an opened bottle of Actimel in the freezer. We even had an unwanted guestπŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸΉ at the property who kept us company while we were watching movies, kept us awake at night by trying to get into our bags hoping to come home with us. He also left several little gifts for us (aka droppingsπŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©) in the kitchen units and on the sofa.πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸ€πŸπŸ­πŸΉπŸΉπŸΉπŸΉπŸΉπŸΉπŸ¨

Thank you for your review. We were pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Spring Heath Lodge and that you would recommend it to others. As a quiet countryside location, we do understand that very occasionally the local wildlife like to drop by but I am pleased to report that this is very rare and was remedied as soon as the owners were made aware of this little 'extra guest' from reading your review. We hope that you may choose to stay at Spring Heath once again and the owners look forward to welcoming you back before too long.

The girls I spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. I did not realise I was booking through a 3rd party, could I have booked through Orian directly. I now have to give all our details to them.

Good friendly staff and knowledgable. The response to my online request was vague, stating I would be contacted to confirm my request. I never recived that call (no phone record of missed call) although Waterside said they tried to contact me. As a result the accommodation I'd booked was released, without me being informed, and had to accept 2nd choice accomodation. Only after I had initiated contact with Waterside Your people are good but your booking processes are extremely weak.

We handle every enquiry we receive straight away, holding the property and contacting each customer as quickly as possible, leaving messages if we are unable to speak directly. We are very sorry that in this instance that you did not get a call or message which concerns us as to where we had left a message (maybe we dialled an incorrect number?) but when we did not hear back the property was released after 24 hours due to it being the last one available. To be honest I'm not happy, Iv been waiting for 4 weeks now for confirmation of my booking and I still haven't received any.

Online booking would be a big improvement over having to send an enquiry form off and wait for a call from the company!

Thank you for your comment and review. I agree that would be ideal. We act as a remote booking office for many different owners and all bookings are made with the owners directly so we do need to confirm actual availability and reserve those dates accordingly for you. Arrive at destination... First dust off all the cobwebs, shoo the spiders. Wash the dishes as clean the shelves. Remove the old dog chew and tissues from under the sofa cushion. Air out the smelly bath mat. Clean the windows. Now enjoy the view and watch the big black labrador have a poo in our back garden area on two occassions. Much to our own dogs disgust. Great place to stay had the above not been an issue on arrival, despite the list of rules that explain the above is to be done before leaving. We have to say the surrounding area was superb, great walks very relaxing. Be prepared to start a war with the midges.

Disappointed that I couldn't book online. When I did book by phone I said that I wanted to pay for the whole holiday but have since found that only a deposit seems to have been taken. Good response to my original booking request with a phone call and email the following day. When I called back the lady was very friendly and helpful.

Call handler very polite and helpful and booking process simple. However, we never got a booking reference, as defined in their terms, and when we got to our lodge, it did not have an en suite bathroom and there was no bath in the property, as advertised! This caused a problem as we had our young son with us. Having checked with the park operator we were told that the pet-friendly lodges do not have a bath. Disappointed. However, standard of holiday otherwise was very good.

Thank you for your review and comments regarding the lodges at Shearbarn. We are sorry that your lodge was not as you expected, we have looked into this with the owners to see what has happened as we were unaware of this too. There are a selection of lodges at this location and it seems that there are some that are configured somewhat differently. It was a shame that the owners were not aware that you were unhappy with any aspect of your lodge during your stay as they may well have been able to change you to another one. Our property details have now all been updated accordingly.
The lady on the phone was lovely very polite and courteous when I actually booked and paid for the break. However I had an email confirming my booking addressed to a Mrs Lane . I sent a return email explaining I was concerned about the confirmation being in the wrong name but with the correct address. The return email was very curt and stated that the fax received from waterside breaks said I was Lane, and it will be changed.

The property I rented in Horning, called Top Deck was the worst place I've ever been in. The description on the Waterside Breaks website does not tell you that the property stinks of damp, has mould growing on the walls, the linen supplied had mould on them. The smell was so bad that all our clothes stunk of the place. Also the extractor for the Chinese take away next door is right next to the upstairs deck so you couldn't go out there to enjoy the view as the smell from that was absolutely awful. The heating and the cooker didn't work. I called & sent messages many times to the owner. He did not bother to reply. It's a disgrace that this property is advertised. Is it even legal to rent it out? Very disappointed Waterside Breaks, will not trust your properties again

We take all comments on properties that we rent on behalf of the owners very seriously and liaise with the owners accordingly to ensure standards are kept up. We have passed on the details that you sent us directly for these to be looked into by the owner giving them an opportunity and chance to review, act upon and respond. I was impressed by the knowledge of the sales person. However when I asked if it was possible to book the break for less than a week I was told this was not possible but on speaking to the owner was told no problem. This is a case of misleading selling as your sales person stated they had spoken to the vendor and they said no. I am however now happy with the price and the prperty

Hi Jacqui, Thank you for your comments, we have looked into this as it concerned us we had done something wrong. The owners at Norfolk Broads Direct are not offering or advertising short breaks on any of their cottages over Xmas & New Year and have asked us not to promote this option as they were unable to offer differing changeover times due to staff cover. However, in this instance following a conversation you had with them directly they were able to work with your chosen dates and manually changed the booking dates over. We do not aim to mislead in any way and try to help and provide our customers with all the correct information as we know it.
