Waltons and Mercia Garden Products are the same company, likely promoting themselves under Waltons given the godawful reviews for Mercia. I see the company lost £2.1m turnover this year compared with the last, going to the dogs and no surprise. Top tip: it's not the market, your reputation for service and quality is pants. I wish I had properly researched the company and reviews before we bought, but I went on the Waltons reviews. We purchased a summer house and found on construction a number of significant issues. To name a few, the door didn't meet the frame and the roof sections didn't meet. The screws supplied seem to be made with plasticine. After spending a long time constructing and deconstructing it to check it wasn't our error we contacted the customer service team. There followed an insane back and forth being told the measurements were correct as per their specs so they couldn't do anything. They were sent all the information, including photos to show the huge gaps where pieces met. It was a summerhouse we were looking for, not an observatory. However, trying to be reasonable with Waltons is like shouting at the sun (which I can do more of now, thanks Waltons!). They have you in a clear bind if you've spend ages erecting the thing, putting us off the inevitable nightmare of a refund - if this is how pisspoor their service before a refund request, life is too short to start that journey. We just wanted replacement parts for bits that were faulty, but were told the replacement parts would be the same (they must specialise in sh*te materials). Do yourselve a favour and look elsewhere. There is a veneer of a decent company from their online presence but this is quite stage managed - shysters and cheaters who don't give a hoot about their customers. Buy from a proper company.

Made the mistake of spending £1,750 on a corner summer house. I've erected many sheds and Sumner houses over the years and this was by far the most poorly made one I've ever experienced. From the start it was clear that the workmanship was poor, (and that's putting it mildly). ALL the panels were misshapen and NOTHING fitted together due to the terrible quality of the materials making the straight lines into banana shapes. The pathetically thin doors wouldn't shut properly due to being warped. I had to buy bolts for the top and bottom of both the double doors to stop them gaping open. But even this didn't prevent the rain coming in as, due to the lack of a decent door frame, there were gaps all around the doors. I had to make and fit an internal frame for the doors to close onto. The doors aren't even made square so don't meet in the middle properly. The so-called windows, (thin perspex sheets that get scratched if you so much as look at them), also had gaps around them which needed sealing with silicone to stop the rain coming in. The parts of the roof and the floor panels didn't fit together due to being warped so I had to clamp the various pieces together to bend them back into shape before they would fit. Absolutely NONE of the fascia board trims or the vertical cover strips were long enough or wide enough to do the job so I had to but more timber to do the job. The hinges that were sent with the kit were the wrong ones so I got them to send me new ones, (I should have actually asked for a whole new summerhouse but by now I was too far into the process of trying to assemble it). Also, many nails were sticking out of the various panels where the nail gun had missed it's target. Loads of pieces of the strengthening timbers were split and/or warped. The quality of the felt was absolutely appalling. It's now leaking due to it splitting where it's turned over at the edges of the roof to go under the fascia. I've had to strengthen the floor with a 25mm thick plywood base to stop the whole structure from wobbling when you walk around. And now I'm going to have to refelt the roof because everything inside is soaking wet and going mouldy. So..... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY.

Some years ago I bought a corner shed / summerhouse from this company. The walls were unmatched the green composite floor and roof were next to useless the roofing felt was brittle and thin and the door lock didn’t have the correct key and the central roof supporting wood was a piece of inch square. However this structure has provided hours of amusement to my daughters friends at the local university architecture faculty and given me the confidence that I could build a better structure without any difficulty so thanks for the only 2 positives of ownership.

The quality of the shed is not worth all this money, the finishing is poor, the installation is far away from being professional, the delivery took longer than promised, and they did not deliver the paint sample, so we could order it again for maintenance, I contacted them to ask for it and they said it will be delivered, this was 2 months ago, even the lock stopped working the third time I tried to open it, by the way, the lock cost me £9.99 and I found it in range for £1.99 so yes, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

100% Shop elsewhere, I received a shed that I can only describe as fit for a bonfire. Panels broken, panel warped, nails hanging out, nails no hit in properly, wood split, wood not lined up before securing. Delivery was not in time slot sent through by company when I had a arranged to be home for so when I arrived home to find this poor excuse for a shed dumped out the front of my house where anything could have happened, to then have ridiculously small partial refund offers from Walton’s to fix the repairs which would cost me more to repair than they would refund to then be lied to continuously about my full refund of when it was processed and when I shall receive my money back. Honestly avoid this company like the plague and buy else where.

Nothing fitted....pre cut panels with massive gaps...nothing numbered at all....instructions don't make any sense....none of the wood that's apparently pre cut to hold the felt down fits...and not by a little I'm talking multiple inches out....absolute joke of a company!! Customer service completely non existent...my shed was never up to a point of being able to use....in the end it ended up being a £900 bonfire!!

DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Read all reviews first. Recently bought a greenhouse from this business. first of all they forgot to load the item on day one. week later it arrived. the lorry was bursting with items and most bowed under the pressure. There was a lot of small fiddly pieces with this item and after reading the reviews (to late I might add) a lot of the excuses where that the customer hadn't sealed the item. So stupidly i thought as there was so many pieces and a lot of areas that were going to be exposed to the rain then i would seal the wood before i build it to i know its 100% sealed. Now the time comes to put this together. well with the naked eye its not to bad, but when you need to assemble this really matters. most if not all the wood is like a boomerang. so good job i sealed first. the screw sizes do not represent what is in the package sent. so you have to guess which screw to use. So sent an email in and was told in a reply that if this is an issue they would collect and refund. Great. So i call up and told that i should not have been told this and that this is not the case because i have stained and sealed the product. But to take pictures of all the pieces that are at fault an email them in and they will look to replace. This would prob be near on 100 pictures! The girl on the phone then started to huff and puff as she was i can only presume done with my complaint. So i asked a manager to call. manager has called and basically told me to go to trading standards and financial ombudsman and let them deal with it and she then wants to terminate the call. I asked for the company directors details, with again a new huff and puff and gave me his name which i virtually had to force out of her. I have also spoken to their finance company about this whom are far from impressed by their attitude. what ever you do avoid this company as all they care about is the money and that is it. Oh and don't forget all the company huff n puffing, because as a customer that's your worth!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY Bought the 8 x 6 shed from them delivery was fine but was disappointed in the quality of the wood, in hindsight I should have refused it then. However I thought once it was erected it would be ok but it is not! It is so flimsy and without spending money ply lining the building and adding roof braces and a new floor replacing the cheap thin felt which tears and building new doors (the ones supplied are so bent they don’t shut ) it is not fit for purpose and would not last a winter! The company are not interested in giving me a refund and all they have offered is some turn buttons to ‘straighten’ the doors out and told me to paint it with 2 coats of wood preservative 😂. My partner is a carpenter and is appalled at the state of the workmanship and quality of the wood, yes he can make it okish by making new doors and strengthening the building but at considerable expense and time and we should not have to!! When you buy something it should be fit for purpose and this shed is NOT. Since they have no intention of giving me a refund I will have to resort to trading standards and or the small claims court to settle the matter.

Truly awful quality shed for almost £1000. Multiple holes in the wood, huge gaps between the tongue and groove slats after a few months. Walton weren't remotely interested in dealing with the issues, so we put a case to the Credit Card company and they reversed the transaction. We got all of our money back.

Where do I start if I could give no stars as a review I would. Paid over £1200 last year for the premium corner summer house. Quality is abysmal, nothing fits properly, wood is of extremely poor quality. It took hours of my time and extra expense to do my best to rectify the issues. Extra wood purchased to support the roof and three waterproof sealers to name just a few extras When I complained about the poor quality, for example gaps around the doors so big that water would leak in everytime, I was offered a small discount. I complained to citizens advice but not much could be done. I reluctantly accepted the small discount offered. My advice is to stay away from this product. I am hoping that with the extra work I completed this product will last a few years. In the meantime I will save some hard earned money in anticipation this poor inadequate product will need replacing in the near future. One thing for sure it will not be replaced like for like.

and is very flimsy. We have spent so far £100 on wood + labour to have the shed Ordered 10 x 8 apex shed. Delivered on time and covered until base ready. In fairness asked our groundworkers to erect. They reported sections didn't fit so couldn't finish. Several emails exchange of photos and a phone call later we were advised that nothing was missing from the gable ends as they could see from delivery photos that they were complete. We employed a joiner experienced in shed building. He had to make parts so that everything fitted. However we then discovered that the materials used to make the shed are of such poor quality that even when the floor and roof are fixed the whole structure moves. It really is not fit for purpose. We have had to spend £100+ to buy wood to strengthen the whole structure plus the joiners cost. On a shed costing just under £1000 that is disgraceful. No use complaining to Waltons as they seem to be under the impression that the customer is always wrong. Very disappointed will not be

My shed has been up a couple of months now. The quality is very poor. So many of the tongue and groove slats do not fit correctly, some panels split, loads of holes and large gaps around the doors and windows. I took a long time to fill and sand the holes and gaps, but now with the warm weather, all panels have expanded and now have over metre long gaps where the tongue and groove was never fitted correctly. So the shed is far from water-tight. Also all the panels are roughly cut and not square. A professional joiner had to try to pull them all back into position and built the shed using ratchet straps and supports or it would have been impossible. So many panels needed to be trimmed or even reconstructed. The screws supplied for the roof supports were not strong enough and it started to sag and needed to be supported with additional bolts. The floor, coming in six sections is a joke. Massively off-square and very flimsy and bouncy. I had to invest in a chipboard floor to go over the top. One of the plastic windows was supplied with a small crack, I couldn't be bothered making a fuss about it, but after a couple of weeks it completely shattered from what I assume was a bird strike. All in all, a very shoddy and cheaply made product with cheap wood and ill-fitting parts. And this is meant to 'premium' product ! BTW, this is what £2,500 gets you !! I wish I had read the review sites as Waltons get appalling write ups. Go elsewhere as this company is awful.

worst made product ever, took 10 hours to build for two grown adults due to the roof not being square, knot holes all over , scratch on one window, shiplap that didn't line up, flooring that wasn't square so needed to be trimmed , to a door that didn't fit, for nearly £500 I was absolutely disgusted at the quality

I contacted walton as my summer house leaked water from the roof and side pannels, it was erected as instructed, and the roofing felt was upgraded,I sent photos of the water leaks and walton said they would be in touch, this was 3 months ago, I have not heard from them since, AVOID waltons at all costs, i would not recommend them, once they have your money they loose interest so be warned.

i could give less than 1 star i would. Poor quality wood for log cabin. And the customer service is even worse. They have been rude and dismissive. The wood started moving despite wood braces at the slightest wind, not even had any strong winds yet. I had it checked and was advised its due to poor quality wood. Update 8/7/21 - apparently Waltons after blaming braces etc for months have now said that the wood they use expands and contracts (so much that you can fit fingers through) is natural with all wood. Therefore please do not buy unless you want gaping holes which obviously allows rain water in your log cabin.

Avoid this company. I bought a premier summerhouse in April. It is sub standard to say the least. I feel ripped off. One panel is warped, there are gaps around the windows, big gaps, the quality is poor and several nails were sticking out and had also split the woods in parts. Waltons suggested I fix the faults with wood glue. Accepting no responsibility for poor manufacturing and faults and the over priced goods.  Because I painted it, as directed by the company, they will not accept any responsibility. Customer service manage was rude and due to remote working they could not phone me.  It was a nightmare to assemble and I ended up paying someone to do it. They were also shocked at the poor quality. Very disappointed with goods and the customer service. They have also increased the prices of the goods. They are making faulty goods and making a good profit. No regard for the individual that buys the goods. STAY AWAY.... similar reviews agree with me.

Avoid Waltons Summerhouse at all costs, we had one fully installed ( an extra £1000) and just had the 3rd visit to have it repaired, they still cannot do the remedial work !!- no one in authority to speak to and even the head of fitters was horrified by the mess we are left with. I am just about to contact Trading Standards.

The quality of the building is awful. Bend timbers. Timbers cut to different lengths so edges would not fit together properly. Nails protruding. Bits broken off where screws have gone through. Screws protruding on the inside. Windows very flimsy. Gouges in the floor from pieces being stacked and protruding nails damaged panel underneath. Door frames made very badly and look awful no matter how they are hung. Complained and got £30 refund. Definitely would not recommend and certainly wouldn’t buy from them again.
