Service is excellent but I made the mistake of buying 3 large bags & it does not suit my GSD at all. It was too expensive for me to return & in fairness I was given the option. My dog dislikes the taste & will only eat it if mixed with fresh food. The effects of this food alternative between diarrhea & constipation. I have tried to persevere but have no alternative other than give it away. So disappointing.

Hi Sarah OMG that 1 star is killing us:( Any chance you could rethink that and amend.....? Sorry to hear your dog did not get on with the food. We would have refunded you for unopened bags which could have been returned using a service like https://www.parcel2go.com/ for about £9, which is greatly less than the cost of a 10kg bag.

Struggling with raw feeding especially when he had a bout of runs and when away in our caravan I searched hi and low for a high nutrition dry food , found w&d and not looked back tried samples packs and loved em all he eats chicken and duck now , nice poo s and no Runny tums just ordered 3rd pack. It would be nice to get a discount as a regular user as if I subscribe I could get buried in food as he is a small dog (cavapoo)and the food lasts a long time I wouldn't know how regular to place the order as it varies , just a thought

I have recently made the switch from raw feeding due to one of my dogs developing an auto immune disease and no longer being allowed a raw diet. I was quite distressed about finding a new food that would match the nutritional value of raw food, keep their poos small and firm and also palatable for my super fussy eaters. i have to say I am very very pleased with this cold pressed food, since being on this my unwell dog has picked up and her tummy is keeping healthy despite all of the medication she is on. Their coats have remained shiny, characters unchanged and they all get just as excited for this food as they did their raw. I am very happy over all with the quality of this food and have already recommended it to others. I love the subscription option too so there is no worrying about when to order a new bag, it arrives as planned. I hope this review helps someone make a decision about if it is right for them.

Thanks Leolie! Looks like the perfect review to me. That makes our day, and we really appreciate you taking the time to say such nice things.

I have 2 dogs - a boxer who’s food allergies are so bad that he’s been on a prescription diet for most of his life (now 7), and a boxer x who is so fussy she will pick fragments of carrots out from a stew on leftover nights (she loved carrots, just not cooked carrots). I was looking for a more natural diet (i.e. not biscuits that are so obviously full of fillers and colouring - particularly in the case of the boxer x) but i don’t have the freezer space to accommodate totally raw. After researching i came across Walker and Drake, and i was dubious looking at some of the more critical reviews but decided to give it a try anyway. Initially there was an issue with the order as my address incorrectly flagged as being islands. A quick email and it was sorted really quickly - great customer service. Food arrived within a couple of days and i was pleased to see both loved it. Although they have both seen a marked increase in poo frequency, every time it is solid and healthy looking. Gone are the days of constant flatulence and us trying to scrape up sloppy and funky coloured dog doos :) My only constructive criticism is that it’s very samey in terms of texture. But overall, i whole heartedly recommend this food and this company if you are looking for food that’s better for your dog but more convenient than raw. Great customer service too!

Extremely disappointed. I have 4 dogs 2 really won’t touch it one of which looks like she’s chewing a wasp and it’s not nice. The other 2 labs will of course eat anything however have developed projectile vomiting no warning just sick. I have tried to mix it to a porridge paste which turns into a gritty horrible texture that left goes hard again. I spent 120.00 for 3 10kg bags and that was discounted. It’s the most disappointing and expensive food I have ever purchased. Roll on pay day so I can replace. Sorry but I speak as I find and 4 dogs can’t be wrong. Make sure you have loads of water in hand.

Hi Elaine It is a shame you decided to post a review before your query had been actioned by customer services. Discussing an issue you may have with us is better for both parties first. As we have said in our email to you it is fine to return an unopened bag for a refund. Thank you

Great communication, the food looked perfect to me but unfortunately my dog wouldn't eat it. Walker and drake were very helpful and gave me tips to encourage him to try it. Sadly he wouldn't but I was given a full refund which is so kind. Thank you. 😊

Found this through a website based on nutrition value sounded great . My dog ended up throwing up around 2 hours after eating It , and he has a strong stomach.

Poor food, excessive wind, ridiculous amount of poo and excessive thirst which according to the company is normal!! I’d avoid if your not particularly keen on being woken several times a night to let your dog out to the toilet!!

Our Border Terrier pup LOVES the chicken cold press. He'd been having a bout of illness, and getting him off the bland vet-prescribed diet back onto real food was proving quite a challenge. Thankfully, the sample of W&D chicken looked to be working so we ordered a full bag, and have never looked back. When there was to be a delay in our order, W&D called us directly and went over some options, and sent us out an extra bag for free - exceptional customer service, and they even found a local stockist for us that we didn't know about. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I always buy the multi packs of chicken, duck and fish. My rescue female collie x loves this food, I add meat or bone broth to the kibble for extra yummyness! She has been on it for around 6 months now and I can definitely see she has a more glossy coat than before. I have tried her on another coldpressed brand, but she didn't seem to like it half as much as walker and drake. Yes it isn't the cheapest but I will definitely keep on buying!

The food is great, but the pricing is shady. In July 2021, a 10kg bag of the chicken variety cost £42.07. At the time of writing, it now costs £57.99 - that is an increase of 20%. Even more concerning is that the price was increased in the month prior to black friday - the "20% black friday discount" is not a discount - they are just playing with numbers to give you the illusion of a bargain. Unfortunately, I am going to steer away from this company from now on.

Hi Mark For the benefit of those that did not see my comments on your incorrect Facebook comment I will repeat them here: Thanks James but you are mistaken. At no time has the full price of a 10kg bag of Chicken been £42.07. Maybe you are referring to a promotional offer? In July 2021 our 10kg Chicken was £49.49. Yes, Chicken is now £57.99 and our email subscribers and food subscribers have been kept up to date with the challenges we face these days and the reasons for any price increases. The Black Friday sale ends tonight and after that the prices go back to list price, unless you are a subscriber, then you get 10% discount on any order. Black Friday makes us busy for a few days but the winners are the customers (and DPD), not us. Many thanks. My bulldog has been rather fussy with food. I wanted a better quality food to keep him thriving and healthy and not put on unnecessary weight. He loves the chicken cold compressed food. I tried the sample packs to see the constancy when made wet. ( A nice porridge constancy he liked) As previous food was very hard and dry and he had not been eating it at all. Tried some dog food in tins which he ate and enjoyed but the ingredients weren't the best and didn't really agree with him, we were being gassed constantly and the out going was grim. He has walker and drake cold compress chicken and he eats it everytime. I don't wet it very often now. I have spoken with customers service and they have been lovely and helpful every time. I feel the price is really good for the food. I would definitely recommend this food.

My two American Akita’s have been on cold pressed but different brands for some time and have always been on and off. We have been giving them Walker and Drake cold pressed in duck & chicken flavour and they are absolutely loving it, licking the bowl clean! The nuggets are small in size so easily chewable (as one of my pups is VERY lazy and hates chewing her food). Thank you Walker & Drake for the amazing food, definitely our new go to food! 🐶

My westie has been going to vets and cost me £1500 in tests and tablets. Two vets later no one could tell me how to cure his itch. My friend said her dog had also gone off our usual brand and to give cold pressed a go before doing raw. Alfie’s 95% better like they say you are what you eat.

I ordered the samples and my dogs loved them. So I ordered a 10kg bag which made my one dog sick for over a week, and the other dog shook her head and refused to eat it, my dogs eat anything so this was unusual . l left it out for the fox and he/she refused it also. I contacted the company and they wouldn't refund as there policy is not to refund opened bags. I was concerned it was a faulty batch. There reply was it was from the same batch although I ordered fish and the samples were all of the available flavours. I had to throw it in the bin so a waste of money. There was also a message on Facebook where a customer had said her dogs wouldn't eat it also which seems to of been removed. There could of beem a problem with it which happens but a refund or exchange would of solved this problem but company did nothing only saying it is frustrating!

Dear Alison Why do you feel it necessary to post another poor review for the same purchase but this time using your name rather than anonymous? As I mentioned in my previous reply we can not accept opened bags into our facility and our returns details are on our FAQs. Please enlighten me as to the removed FB post? We would only remove a post if it was rude or out of the spirit of social media. At no point did you ask for an exchange so please do not give the impression that you did.

Ever since he was a puppy we’ve really struggled to get the right food for my Cockapoo Wilson. He has a bit of a sensitive tummy (I think he actually has allergies/intolerances) and recurring anal gland issues. In the search to find him a food that deals with these problems we’ve been through at least 7 different brands. We’ve only been on Walker & Drake for a few days, but I’m already seeing big improvements. 1.) Wilson loves it, which is brilliant because he can be picky with his food 2.) the biting at his bum and scooting on the floor has stopped 3.) his poos are SO much firmer. We trialled the tester pack first (which I think is a fab idea), and he actually liked all of the flavours- but we settled on a pack of the chicken flavour to start with. As I said it’s still early days but so far I’m really pleased with everything. I hope the positive results continue!

Our 16 week old working cocker spaniel was suffering with a sensitive tummy, tried him on the trial packs, he loved them and ever since we’ve fed him the duck variety he’s been so much better! He loves the flavours too! (Also great as treats as they’re easy to break into smaller pieces) Just ordered some more Duck alongside the Ocean Fish! Big Thumbs up

wow, wow, wow. we have two dogs. my lovely black cavapoodle Elvis and my cuddly blond cockerpoodle Waffle. The free samples we received went down a real treat and so have just ordered two 10kg bags. Going to keep Waffle on the fish recipe and see if it helps with his skin allergy. Will update in a couple of months. The owner and staff were so helpful when I contacted them..... so great to support a British family firm in these times.
