“Dreadful service. They change delivery dates after receiving the order but don’t send a notification of the change. You have to chase and turns out the reason is the plants aren’t big enough so they are continuing to grow them before sending out. Surely the answer is to charge for smaller plants and we can grow them on? I ordered in March based on what they said they’d have available for plants better to plant early spring. I wasn’t planning to wait from Feb to May for them to grow them on. Email to customer care bounced saying they couldn’t receive email from my email provider. Customer care rep insisted they didn’t have a problem with their email - other reviews indicate other people have had email problems with them. I finally cancelled the order and won’t be ordering from them again. Glad I paid by paypal”

“why is this company allowed to trade! They are thieves, frauds and scammers. They immediately take your money and do not deliver. They do not reply to emails they do not fulfil their duty. The police need to investigate this. As with everybody else they took £39.99 from me 2nd Feb. It is now 3rd April. Heard nothing and received nothing. In the hands of Paypal to get money back but as others before me I am reporting them to Trading Standards.”

“what a company ordered 2 plugs begonias for hanging baskets £9.99 each + postage i.e £24.97 on 26/05/20 money taken straight away (ref. 34151827) chased them as I didn,t have anorder no or confirmation no joy.rang customer services several times again no reply.E-mailed 4 times requesting a refund no answer still no reply and no refund This seems tantamount to Fraud to me”

“I ordered pre-planted hanging baskets that did arrive but were simply thrown into the box without any cardboard to secure them. They are ruined, stems broken, soil fallen out and unusable, most of the plants are missing. What a disappointment as this year has been a disaster with online plant shopping and I was hoping that these baskets would give me a little colour while we are shielding.”

“Took all the money for the order out of my bank straight away, 3 tomato plants turned up weeks later, one went straight in the bin, the other 2 were just about rescuable. They were boen dry, and in a terrible state. I am still waiting on 30 marigolds i ordered at the same time (probably about 2 + months ago now). No response to an email i sent 4 weeks ago. Absolute joke. Save your time, money and effort, don't use these robbing bunch of so and so's.”

“Like many of the below, only 1/3 of my order arrived; they don't answer their phones and the tracking shows that my order had been delivered, which it clearly hadn't. E-mails will only be answered in 10-14 days (not holding my breath) and in the meantime I'm severely out of pocket. Rubbish company, will never use them again and will make sure to let all and sundry know how useless they are too.”

“Out of 24 plug plants only all dying except for 3. I’ve tried numerous times to contact them but just get standard email. On another review it suggest using there FB page, well surprise they are starting to reply. Won’t use them again especially as they are part of Thompson& Morgan who I lost faith in years ago.”

“Took money from bank account, only one part order received have not seen the rest. Have tried to phone, they are not answering phone, tried three emails now, no reply, have allowed extra time due to Coronavirus pandemic as they advised. Asked by automatic response to allow 10-14 days for email reply, nothing. No response, no plants nothing. Will now be issuing a county court claim in the small claims court. Disgusting customer service.”

“Ordered plants which arrived two weeks after stated delivery date ... Wrong plants! Rang 'Customer services' (sic) ... No answer. E mailed 'Customer services' (sic) 5 weeks later and several repeated emails going unanswered other than the usual 'blah blah 48 hrs blah blah' I still have the wrong plants and still no answer from VM. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY> THEY ARE USELESS!”

“Don't use this company! My order in May has still not been received in full. An email requesting an update went ignored. The order is currently in transit and has been for 7 days, so not expecting any healthy plants to be delivered if they ever are! I have requested a refund, but don't hold out much hope of getting easily looking at other reviewers comments. My advice: look elsewhere for online plants!”

“I placed a large order early May the email confirmation stated 24 hour delivery on 2 obelisks and I have still not received them. I’ve now sent 5 emails with no response and no refund. Other items still not arrived. Some arrived in very poor condition.”

“I have bought from these people before and generally, not brilliant but not too bad BUT, last month I spent £24 + postage and was really disappointed with the appalling condition of the plants. one group of 5 arrived first - a bit dry but looked fair - sadly after 2 weeks only 1 1/2 still surviving. next day 5 more daisies + 20 various - 5 daisies arrived so wet many had rotted away - of the 20 only 11 still alive........... complained to customer care, very nice lady said sorry and would send some more daisies, they duly arrived and were in worse condition than first lot another phone call (At a silly rate) and was told, fairly abruptly, to send some pictures via E:mail to verify the condition of the plants, which I did see some attached.........I quickly got an E:mail reply apologizing and giving a full refund. However, still not too happy as I do not have any plants as now out of stock”

“After feeling great that my order for several types of bedding plants had been accepted, it wasnt long before i became disillusioned withe the company. They stated 21 days for delivery, wrong, it took up to 45/50 days before the plants arrived. Then when the final trailing geraniums didnt arrive i contacted them by email, but received no reply. I then rang them to be told the remaing part of the ordered would arrive by the end of June 2019. Once again lies, as i then received an email saying they couldnt supply the geraniums and i would be credited in my bank account. Not bad after placing an order at the begining of April 2019.. They never respond to emails and the delivery process is appalling. I would advise people to shop eleswhere as the service is very poor. I wasnt even offered a substitute. Steer clear as half the plants your order come from other nurseries such as Thompson & Morgan. This is advertised on Van Meuwen site.”

“Will not buy from this company again. Got an email saying plants had been delivered - no parcel had been received and no calling card left. I emailed Van Meuwen, after trying, unsuccessfully to phone them for half an hour and just received an automated reply that they would get back to me - in 14 days. The plants actually arrived three days later - some dead, the rest very dry and leggy and I doubt they will survive... Once bitten twice shy!”

“What an appalling company this is. It is no more theft that they take your money and do not supply the goods, surely they should be in court and made to return all the money they have taken from so many people. Avoid Van Meuwen (Thomas Morgan) they rip you off, and just don't care.”
