“Awful experience. Ordered an Arcteryx Jacket as a gift only to be told a few weeks later by the recipient, that it was leaking. Initially, the returns process seemed quite simple. Ewan, from Tiso was very helpful and I returned the Arcteryx Jacket as requested. It's been received (royal mail signed for) yet no correspondence to tell me this. I have received no refund and despite numerous emails and messages, still no correspondence from Tiso, not even an acknowledgement of my return or my emails. This is an expensive bit of kit. So far, I'm £400 out of pocket and nothing to show for it. To say I'm frustrated and disappointed, is an understatement! There's a list of questions on this review, one of them, how long did your refund take? My answer....I'm still waiting!”

“Bought a pair of walking shoes described as having " hardwearing energy rebounding dual density rubber / phylon sole". Used mainly for gentle walks with the dog. Wore down prematurely . The heels in particular wore quickly to the stage where they were breaking down from the inside, due I believe to being hollow ( the energy rebounding bit); so shoes now unusable. I am 72 years old and have never before had shoes of any description wear as quickly; ironic given Tiso's description. On complaining Tiso staff pleasant but quoted the mantra "normal wear and tear" and were either unable or unwilling to contemplate there could possibly be a problem with design or the quality of the materials used. The shoes will be replaced with similar from the likes of Aldi or Lidl at a fifth of the cost, which I expect will last for at least as long. Incidentally, and maybe most disapointing Tiso failed to publish my fairly negative review of the shoes on their website”

“Disappointed. Purchased a Tiso branded Vango Munro 25 daysack last year. It isn't heavily used/not overly loaded. In less than a year the stitching on the zip on the top picket has failed and the zip has come away/un-usable. I was in the shop in Dec to buy something else (£200 spend) and just highlighted this issue/showed them the item. All I got was 'you'd have to leave it with us, we'd send it away for someone to look and then let us know what they think but probably just counts as wear and tear so nothing we can do, we wouldn't replace as likely constitutes wear and tear'. Really - you expect your products to last less than a year???”

“I placed an online order for the first time ,and after 5 days still no dispatching email.I contacted customer service and they didn't answer at my question. The service is useless.I am suspecting that this company charged me for a tent that is not even stock .First and last time I purchase at Tiso.”

“My partner and I visited the Tiso in Perth to look at mountain bikes. I liked that the range of bikes was not overwhelming and there were plenty of staff on hand to advise us when we needed it. The shop had a nice vibe and we were encouraged to try different bikes for size. We discussed our plan to buy 2 bikes and some basic accessories and there was no hard sale to force us to commit there and then. We returned the next day having decided on 2 bikes and negotiated a discount. The customer service was really good and the 2 guys we dealt with, (Mike and Douglas) seemed less like salesmen and more like cycle technicians. We spent more money than we'd planned but left the shop satisfied and would definitely go back.”

“After deciding to take up kayaking and after plenty of desk top research I selected a Dagger Katana River 10.4 kayak. Only problem was that there were none left in the UK (late in the season) and were I live in Scotland there are no 'local' stockists. Tiso did a special order and a very fair deal for a line they do not normally stock which also arrived earlier than scheduled. The local Tiso store staff helped me load it on to the roof rack and off I went. Only had the boat out a couple of times so far but love it!”
