“Ordered this item during holiday period Arrived 7th Jan. The Versachuck with Axminster type jaws suits my needs as i have a few sets of Axmin. jaws which I can use with no problem. I would say you must use Versachucks own jaw carriers to suit the chuck. Also sell carriers for other lathes. Great service.”

“The Toolpost has a broad range of top quality woodturning equipment at very reasonable prices. I needed a backplate to convert my Versachuck (brilliant) from imperial to metric. It arrived so quickly I hadn't yet got the lathe to fit it to!”

Thanks for the kind words, we're glad everything went smoothly. We would love to offer free shipping at a certain level, but the only way to do this is to follow what some other industry retailers have done, and increase product prices. For us, this seems unfair on those whom make the journey to us and would also pay inflated prices. We think honest pricing and clear costs are the most open way to do business. After all, there's no such thing as free shipping, so it has to be covered somewhere - remember this also covers staff time to pick the order, pack the order, book the order, invoice the order, pay for packaging materials and also pay for the courier which we get charged for. We already subsidise shipping costs, but to give it away would mean we wouldn't be around long. Anything over £30 and upto 30kg in the uk is £7.85 - which I think you'll agree is pretty reasonable given the service we deliver. I'm always happy to hear ideas from customers if they can think of ways to overcome these real business costs :-) Thanks again and we hope you enjoy the burrs - they're excellent tools!

“After receiving the tools I understood why there are no direct reviews available on the webpage and no review of each product. Ordering here again showed me that you get what you pay for. I ordered the versachuck 3 and I had to modify the the mountingjaws to fit the chuck and also the dovetailjaws. also the engineering jaws had to be made to fit the chuck. Although I really idea of the system I was more than disappointed by the engineering precision. Overall the chuck is heavy and seems to be rigid but its not as smooth as it should be. I am used to better quality from the UK.”

I am sorry to read this here, especially as we are always on hand to help resolve things for customers if you were to call us. The VersaChuck has been in production for over 15 years and of course there are some bodies which don't meet our expecting standards. In these rare cases we would always work to resolve problems. We use the VersaChucks day in day out in the workshop and have done so for many years without major problems, but like any production of anything in this world, there are occassions where issues do arrise. Since you appear to have solved the problem we can't help much further now and simply hope that the chuck serves you well for years to come as ours (and many hundreds of others) have. “One of the best woodturning stores in the UK. Friendly manner on the phone with great staff. Ordered some carbon brushes for my Camvac, Thursday afternoon just on closing time. Arrived 10.30 on the Saturday morning. Brilliant. A five star shop.”

“Two recent orders were delayed by one out of Stock item. I was promised an update many times with the first order but did not receive the promised call back. I chased the first order multiple times and once again after a few weeks, only to be told that Toolpost were in the same boat as me and had no idea about when the remaining item would arrive!? Being as they had taken the money for the order at the time of placing it, I asked for a refund and to cancel the order. The person on the phone seemed totally uninterested in resolving my issue and securing my order. So, I have been avoiding using Toolpost again, but unfortunately they are the only retailer that seems to have the particular faceplate I need. So, I placed an order much against my better judgement and once again they have taken my money and then emailed me to tell me one item is out of stock and to expect an email when it is back in stock, no eta or offer of sending the items that they do have in stock. Very poor customer service/communication and it would seem that I am going to have to cancel the order and never use them again”

“4 if the 5 pieces were quite nicely figured but 1 was very plain (& also rectangular not square - which is possibly worse for turning but not my intended purpose). Nice wood but 2-3mm oversized (OK for turning but not good for my purpose).”

“The parcel was left on the top of a car on the driveway to our house. My son found it about 9:00pm that evening it had been delivered earlier on that day. Emailed ToolPost to complain and got this response: ‘am appalled to read this email and can only apologise on their behalf – at a certain point we have to trust other companies to do their jobs well, sadly they have clearly not done this. We have passed this onto the team at CSM to pick up with Hermes. We are actually in the midst of changing suppliers, hopefully to DPD in the next month or so… Again, please accept my apologies for their poor service, indeed it does not reflect well on us, yet we have no means to have any control of them – such is the challenge of mail-order. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.’”
