“My Volvo Penta 2003 diesel engine was fitted with a 60 Amp Alternator with a split charge unit charging two battery banks. The 60 Amp Alternator dated from 1987 so has given good service in the Marine Environment before its failure. The original battery banks added up to 160 Amps, over time as electrically powered navigational systems and other equipment were fitted the battery bank capacity was increased to 290 Amps. I visited the Starter Motor & Alternator Company website and provisionally selected a like-for-like replacement alternator and also viewed the 100 Amp alternative. I contacted the Starter Motor & Alternator Co and explained my electrical system and how it is used. Following a brief discussion on the charging system it was agreed that the 100 Amp Alternator was best suited to my setup. The knowledge of charging systems demonstrated was very impressive. The order process was simple and completed during the phone call. The 100 Amp Alternator arrived within 24 hours and was supplied with comprehensive fitting instructions. No issues were experienced during fitting and the charging system is performing much better than before the failure. I am very pleased with the new alternator and the service I received from The Starter Motor & Alternator Co.”

“Delighted with my new alternator for my Honda Jazz. Website helped me select the correct model for my vehicle. Price was much cheaper than those from the dealer and general automotive parts suppliers. Also much longer warranty than commercial scrap yards offer. So it was the best option and has been working great for the past 2 months since I fitted it.”

“This is a fantastic company run by the most helpful and knowledgeable Jack. I have a twin engined boat kept in the south of France, this summer an alternator started making a noise as the bearings were wearing out. I had no choice but to buy a new one from Volvo Penta which cost about £950! When back in the UK I researched the price of another one, I found this co. on-line, same alternator £199! I have just bought 2 new replacement starter motors from Jack at a great price, heaven knows how much VP ones would be. The delivery is always the next day and the price quoted includes VAT and delivery, I wish other companies were such a pleasure to buy from. Thank you Jack, keep up the good work! Steuart.”
